The problem is the extremely high cost to mine these and the way China controls it can flood the market with RE’s for years thus making investment irrelevant. We had companies investing billions go bankrupt due to this.

It will greatly affect the progress of chip industry in India. The prices of all electronic product in India will go up. We know how sluggish is our capabilities in producing such rare metals. I wonder how the IRE a central government firm has not yet winded up because of its performance and contribution. It's high time to call for an end of heat at Indo China border and start sustainable trade between the countries for the wellness of industry as well as the people of India.
