I have one, it's handy for house plants and such and works well on the auto's.

Awesome! It is not the brightest light for sure, but it will definitely get someone started out on their grow journey =)

I started out with one of these, and realized not to long after my first grow that it was really underpowered for the tent I was trying to use it in.
@TheHippieGeeks3 ай бұрын
Yeah, it is a great starter light at an affordable price point, but to really see results you will want to upgrade to something smaller.

I may have to try one of these out with an autoflower grow that I have coming up soon.
@TheHippieGeeks3 ай бұрын
That is how this light will work best, as it is a bit underpowered to be running a photoperiod grow.

I got this one for my seedlings and clones before I put them in my veg room.

It is a really good one for that!

my light just arived, i am currently using 2x50 watt Sanlight (Sanlight is an Austrian Commpany, they are propably some of the best Led Lamps on the market, but at a cost of 100 Euro per 50 watt i thought i give the 100 watt sf for 70 euros a chance) leds on a 60x60 cm or 2x2 americanos units. I am planing to use the 100 watt spiderfarmer in the middle and the two 50 watts leds on the left and right. the two 50 watts are also dimmable. i think 200 watt would be to much for the size of the tent, so i am planing on using the 100 watt sf + 30 watt left + 30 watt right, in bloom. i hope with that setup i should get close or little bit above 1000 ppfd in the middel and about 600 in the corners.

I wonder why they put those components on the front in this light, but none of the others.

I like the price of it, but I do not like the fact that you cant adjust the light levels with it. I suppose that is part of why the cost is so low though.
@TheHippieGeeks3 ай бұрын
That is likely most of the cost difference, and you just have to go with a more expensive one to get that kind of control.

I hate the fact they emit light for hours after switching off giving you hermie after hermie . I really hate that . Going back to HPS especially for flower

Okay, how tf do i install the dimmer switch? Amazon fucked me lol alreqdy gotta buy more shit so how do i hook it up?
@TheHippieGeeks2 ай бұрын
I am not sure that you can install a dimmer on this light, that is why the 1000D is cheaper than the base SF-1000. Someone may have done it, but I didn't think it was possible.

that is simply not enough light for photoperiod plants to reach their full potential
@TheHippieGeeks3 ай бұрын
For sure, these smaller lights really are more of a way to get started with growing, and if you want to push yields more down the road then you would upgrade to a larger light.

@@TheHippieGeeks i honestly feel like there are better options for not much more money?
@TheBod763 ай бұрын
Not worth to save a couple of bucks when buying it when you will pay way too much for running it. Non dimmable lights are very cost ineffective.
@TheHippieGeeks2 ай бұрын
This is a very niche product for sure, and I also prefer to have dimmable lights.

Be wary of products. Ballast failed after 14 months of use on the sf 4000 model have been fighting with warranty to get replaced. Warranty is smoke and mirrors, they will not honor warranty in the sense that you are accustom to in the us. They will only offer parts to try and replace what they think could be wrong with no actual testing. My specific repair involves soldering the ballast back to the board and opening the new ballast all of which voids future warranty. They will not replace light when ballast fails. This creates a huge safety risk and financial risk for the perspective consumer. I have emails to verify my account if necessary. Just want to spread the word, so that potential customers understand the quality and after sale service you will receive. Very disappointed with spider farmer product and customer service as a whole. Consider ac Infiniti or mars hydro or array for similar cost but a better quality product that actually honor warranty. For a higher cost but much better light and no hassle warranty consider hlg.
