Yes, please. I've just come back from a Christmas holiday in East Anglian. I visited Sutton Hoo, an extremely interesting site under the care of the National Trust. Replicas of some of the treasures are on show in an exhibition hall. Also, the home of Edith Pretty is open to view. This is not the only burial site, there are nineteen others. The story of how this escaped grave robbery is interesting, apparently the mound was disfigured by early farming, a robbery was attempted but they dug in the wrong place. Actually the story of how and why Henry VIII came to legalise grave robbery could make an interesting story.

The Dark Ages is such a misnomer. There were so many beautiful things created

As a friend of mine who is a professional historian explained me, in today's academia the term "dark ages" is really used only in the sense of a period with no or little written records, and whose history should rely most on material, archeological information. I was quite amazed by that 😮

Yes! Chris I thoroughly enjoyed this tale about the dark ages of England which were not so dark. It seems to me there was a lot going on in England during this time it just wasn't recorded. I definitely think you should do a video about the battle between Edwin and the two kings especially Penda. I particularly like the fact that Raedwald was half Pagan and half Christian, as Homer Simpson once said God bless those pagans! 😂😅 A masterful work my friend and I am looking forward to the next episode of English history.

Look, it was a great pleasure, a story to which I had to listen very carefully. the Viking Age is around the sacking of Lindesfarne in 793; but in Denmark we have archaeological traces that indicate organized state formation 500. A baptism fund has been found in an excavation of the rampart at Trælleborg north of the current Slagelse, which should have been built in 980 by King Harald Blåtand. Perhaps a pre-natinoal Christian society in Denmark. History is wonderful and thank you for your fine lectures. 👍👍👍And in today's woke times, these treasures should be returned to the Danes immediately😂
