English Breakfast Tea. Anything else is frippery. 🤣🤣

Ugh, frippery. It's one of those unsettling words I both love and hate in equal measure. Well played, good commenter.

I thought it was going to be tea and current buns! But I am watching from Lancashire England. Best wishes.

The Djuna graphic novel looks interesting. I read Nightwood a few years ago. Parts of it went completely over my head too.

HI Peg. A book you might want to include (if you haven’t already) for Red September is “Reds, The Tragedy of American Communism,” by Maurice Isserman, published in June 2024. I haven’t read it yet, so I can’t comment on it, but it looks like it might be a good history of the Communist Party in the United States.

Ah yes, I did receive an ARC of that one...just haven't gotten to it yet! Thanks for the rec!

It appears that Dr. Schrader writes history and historical fiction equally well. Impressive. Thanks for putting me on to her.

After the truth about Stalin came out, the American Communists went AWOL, gave up their memberships or just faded away, except for the ones McCarthy illegally called, never against the law to be a member of a political party. In any case, never a large group and contrary to conservative folklore, never a large part of the American Labor Movement, too few of them. Unionists wanted a fair share, not to end Capitalism.

I'm a true tea drinker, iced and hot. I don't add anything to it. I'm always on the hunt for a new tea brand. This sounds delicious and will definitely be checking them out. Looking forward to your review on Kent State. I lived fairly close. Just my opinion, but I think you should bypass Opus. You certainly have a full plate my friend. Looking forward to your author interview. Let us know about your other tea sample. Gotta love that London Fog though.

Ah, Laverne, my fellow tea lover! Thanks for your support (as always!!). And I agree...I've decided to pass on Opus. It's just too dark for my blood right now.

Opus sounds too dark😢. I laughed when you said no more someones behind the curtain pulling the strings so why go on living😅. I agree. Silliness. We can only handle so much of that

Hmm. So tea can be served in a form that's NOT over ice and loaded with sugar? Will wonders never cease? 🤔 In all seriousness, I would have figured Martine for the sort who demands the use of one of those proper springy hinged mesh sphere tea thingies. Shows what I know. 😁 I have to wait until November 5th for my copy of Lincoln vs. Davis. It's not faaaaair. 🤪
