I do as well I miss my camera and IR blaster but being able to walk out of the house without worrying if I have my phone is great...I even use it to pretend to unplug...for years I was never more than a few feet from my phone...now I go out evenings with just my s3...when I go drinking with my friend I leave the wallet at home, pay with watch and use the Uber app to get me home...lol

Hi, thanks for the awesome video. I'm trying to look for the exact band that you use and some listings that I see (even thought its 22mm) kept on saying its too narrow - yours look wide and fit perfectly. Also the links you posted on the comments below shows a braided version. Anyway, when installing that strap, would you need a tool do it? Was it easy or do I have to go do a watch shop to have it done? Thank you again for the awesome video.

one thorn in my side about the S3 is they removed the timer feature. I miss being able to set a quick timer to remind me of small things

For example I'm in the bar right now...lol...i used it to get the uber to the bar, I used the message to let my mates know I'm buying, I used email to let my wife know I'm at least a little sober, I'm paying for the rounds using Samsung pay, I'm answer the phone cuz my friend can't find me, I'm going to use uber to go home and as inebriated as I am I don't have to worry about dropping my phone or leaving it at the club...so....yes it gets two thumbs up from me.

Robert Draper thank you it actually does it on its own you will get a notification that is just on the watch however if you click on the icon for email and you delete it it will actually delete it off of your phone

Question. In standalone mode, how do you get rid of the watch icon that appears at the 12 position? It's pretty annoying because it's invasive and serves no purpose apart from telling you that your watch is not connected by WiFi or Bluetooth.

Why does my watch not count all the floors I go up and down? Is it because I normally skip a step? How come I can't access the Sleep feature on my watch (apart of Samsung Health) as an app/widget in itself like I can with the Calories, Steps and Floors etc? Am I able to have my watch on me and monitor my heart beat, steps etc without being on my wrist? I'm a beauty therapist and am not going to spend extra for a fitbit. This watch was a gift for me.

I downloaded an input alternative that works a zillion times better than drawing letter by flipping letter or the crappy voice feature: MODALITY. It's a mind-shift for sure but works once you get used to it (they claim 50wpm). Developed FOR Tizen OS; they didn't even bother with Android since nobody's made an Android-GearS comparable.

ReeferMadness TV make a appointment at your phone carrier store and they can set up numbersync in a couple of minutes no problem.

If number sync doesn't work, go into the gear app, settings, scroll down to call forwarding, and set up that way....may have to make call from watch in stand alone mode first to get the watch phone number, and then anytime you disconnect from phone, auto call forwarding

Great tips! I especially like your tip for *71 call forwarding however it doesn't appear to work with ATT. All I can do with the device is set NumberSync. If I dial the Gear S3 phone # it tells me the number does not accept calls. Any suggestions?

If you have a newer phone like an S8 or S9 you can activate a feature on the phone called call and text on other devices trust me it works

It doesn't use Android Pay. It uses Samsung Pay. The difference? Both can NFC payments. However, Samsung pay can also use MST (Magnetic Secure Transmission). What that does is: if you run into a point of sale terminal that isn't setup for NFC (and there's a lot out there that isn't) the watch will also send a MST signal which (for lack of a better term) mimics a card swipe. It is not flawless. I've tried it at every place where you can swipe your own card. It failed twice. Once at Payless Shoes and again with the local vending machine at my job (though if I try enough times it will eventually go through). Also you need to make sure that the cashier has setup the POS terminal to accept a card swipe. Some like to wait until you have your card in your hand to press whatever button they have to press and all they see on their side is you checking your watch. But it is fun to have a cashier say: that doesn't work here (especially when I was using my phone) and oops, I guess it does work. Also the phrase: Did you just use your watch to pay for that!?

Please provide the link to this exact band. What I like about your band is that it is a snug fit without the 16mm-22mm adapter. Your watchband is a truly snug fit and it looks made for your specific watch.

Sonu Khan You have to have the LTE version in order to receive calls when bluetooth is disconnected. You might be able to receive calls if you are connected to WiFi.
