I honestly like the Ducks logo they won the cup with over the current webbed D. Maybe it's nostalgia, but that 2007 team was so dominant with Selanne, the Niedermayer brothers, Pronger, and a young Perry and Getzlaf.. and lets not forget stellar goaltending by JSG and Bryzgalov.

When I first started watching hockey on TV in the mid-1960’s, I always wondered why Montreal’s white sweaters (jerseys) didn’t have a wide blue horizontal stripe, like their red home jerseys. Many years later, I learned they had one like that in the 1940’s. I still think the one Shannon shows with the blue stripe is great.

Yep. Way better than the predominant orange crap we have now. I don’t know why we had to change to that. Oilers have always had blue as the dominant colour. We aren’t the Flyers. Give the people what they want and go back to blue with orange shoulder bars.

The most forgettable Rangers jersey was the horrible redesign they did during the John Ferguson GM period. Figures it was an old Montreal C guy to sabotage the classic look of the Rangers jersey. Thankfully they came to their senses and s-canned the other monstrosity. On the other hand that Ferguson jersey was so bad it's my #1 choice for the Rangers throwback

The Reebok rebrand was kinda cool at the beginning back in 07 - I guess mostly because it was something new. Now, looking back at most of those jerseys, it's hard to find one that I like, especially the ones with the piping, and the NHL logo looking pretty out of place in the V neck. And, yes, the fact that you have enough jerseys to have 1 forgettable jersey for each team, is crazy.

You know what made me first notice that?? I had a table hockey game when I was a kid in the 80's and it was possible to order any of the 21 teams home or away jersey stickers and I ordered them all and sure enough, the Rangers and Jets were exactly the same! lol

Great video and collection! I’ll add some honourable mentions from the top of my head: The first Mighty Ducks alternate, the white one. The other one seems more memorable. The Bruins alternate with the current shoulder logo. Always mix it up with the Winter Classic one. The Panthers all blue alternate. Completely out of the park, but I love it. The Habs green leaf Centennial jersey. Overshadowed by the barberpole and blue ones. The Islanders orange pointy one. Crazy to think the Isles have never won orange again. The Rangers 85th Anniversary, which had the cool retired numbers thing inside. The OG yellow Penguins jersey, with a similar striping to their current set. The first Sharks black jersey with the full shark design. The new one has overshadowed it. The first black skate Canucks jersey with the yellow blade and the Flying Vs on the shoulders. Honourable honourable mention: the 1973 Nordiques jerseys that has a completely different design and even RED in their jersey. Although that was in the WHA. But it is still wild.

6:00 I got my first Avs jersey as an adult shortly after discovering this channel a while back, either Ben H or fullmoon, and it was a Reebok with the weird armpit piping. It definitely looks weird without the Rocky Mountain inspired zigzag across the bottom. Another fair choice might have been the maroon wordmark jerseys they came out with in 2002. I wasn't a fan then, and I'm not really a fan of the baby blue they had a few years back

It was actually John Ferguson who took that NYR design with him to Winnipeg after he was released from the Rangers...he implemented them in NY back in 1976 and liked them so much that he changed Winnipeg's uniforms to them when he got there in '78.

For the bruins, the 1995-2007 white and black jerseys with the pooh bear on the shoulders are pretty forgettable to me. I have a #27 Bobby Orr rookie golden one, like the one you showed from the 60s and I love it! No golden one for quite a while after that. To me forgettable is not about the time past but how average it is.

The Blues jersey you featured wasn't from the 80's. That was their original white jersey which was changed sometime during their 1st year.

Yep. After that the stripes were yellow/blue/yellow on the whites from 1968 until the 80s and the jerseys were essentially unchanged. From his jersey history video last year he has the blue versions of both 87-89 and 89-92, and I would have picked one of those as most forgettable since they kept tweaking the style every couple of years from the mid-80s through the mid-90s.

That Chicago jersey is forgettable in and of itself. But, the first time they wore it was far from forgettable. That was the Soldier Field game. With all that snow coming down, the all-black was kind of perfect for that night. It was one of the most memorable games I have ever seen. Like playing in a snow globe. I thought their 2015 Winter Classic sweater was at least as forgettable, if not more so.

Okay, the fact that you actually like the second logo of the Tampa Bay Lightning says a lot. Pretty much everybody just wants to forget that one tbh. The first logo had a lot more style to it, and the font will be ingrained in the city for years to come. And the third/current logo is probably the cleanest and coolest version of the team logo. The one that you had with the Tampa Bay on the top I remember vividly because that was the first jersey that I actually wanted other than a 2003-4 Vinny Lacavalier jersey.

Fun fact about the Devils stadium series jersey, they actually didn’t have a shinny logo on it like all the other teams, they just wore their regular throwback red-green jersey and put a stadium series patch on the shoulder.

Per Dan Kelly, the late, great play-by-play man of the St. Louis Blues, and network PBP man for CBS, NBC, and occasionally CBC’s broadcasts, “The Blackhawks home red sweaters are the best uniforms in ALL of professional sports”. And as a lifelong Blues fan since 1967, as much as I love The Blue Note sweater, I agree with Mr Kelly. The Hawks red sweater is outstanding. Absolutely the BEST. No third jersey need apply.
