The Seadoo has 3 2 stroke oil lines, one small one to each carb intake and one large one that goes to the bottom of the block. If you are going to premix the gas, you may not be getting enough oil into the bottom end. Engine may not run for long. Best bet is to restore the origional oil system. Good luck with them, they cleaned up nice

I will tell you the early Seadoo and Yamaha's were notorious for the Honeycomb/aka resinator fails and when they do it restricts flow through the exhaust, they sell what is called a D-Plate which eliminates that resinator but still allows back pressure, just keep that in mind

For future refrence the yamaha gauges are supposed to do exactly what they are doing , because they do not have a battery switch or key etc , when you crank it turns it on , when motors off it goes into sleep mode
@TheHomePros62212 жыл бұрын
mine wasn’t cranking at all with the switch, the dash has what’s called a pass lock system and it’s common to go bad so the start button won’t work, once I swapped the wires I bypassed the pass lock and now the switch works along with the gauges and everything works like factory and still has the security code.

never run it without those oil lines hooked up! Unless your premixing your gas. Ours are on 50:1 premix. I got a block-off plate for ours. The dash is typical. Won't be on unless your putting your code in or the engine is running. Other than that its always off. Oil injection is proportional to engine rpm. More oil will come out at higher rpms. Very good design. People that have had issues, don't maintain their oil system like they should. Ours have replacement engines and it calls for premix instead of using oil injection for whatever reason.

how to do adjust the idle??
@libertyforamericanow Жыл бұрын
@@anthonyaneke7084 if there's a perfect way I don't know how to do it. I clean them real good with new OEM carburetor kits. I knew how many turns the fuel mixture screws went in so I knew where to turn them out to. I also did the Popoff pressure and I ordered fuel mixture screws with t handles. Other than that you just have to turn the throttle screw up. That's really a terrible design almost impossible to get to the fuel mixture screws while it's running with the exhaust on

I'm glad I cam across your video. I have a question, on the gtx after you put the carb back in noticed when you try to start it would just "thud" any idea why it's doing that? Getting my ass kicked on a 97 gtx, hard to crank especially with both plugs in
@TheHomePros62212 жыл бұрын
thank you!! well it could be a couple of things, solenoid could be bad, starter motor could be bad, it could be getting flooded very quick so make sure carb isn’t leaking and is set correctly, could be somthing internal like a bent rod also

My yamaha that I just completely rebulit is the exact same as yours it's a 2000 yamaha xl800, and mine sounded the exact same as yours. I have good compression since everything is brand new but that's just how thease 800 motors sound honestly. A new top end and you'll have a blast on the yamaha
@TheHomePros62212 жыл бұрын
yes sir, do u kno a good place to get a new top end?
@MegaKencam2 жыл бұрын
If memory serves the Yamaha should have 120 psi compression and the Sea-Doo should have 150. 90 is low. Did you test it again after you ran it for a while? Does the Yamaha have an air box or flame arrestors? It might run lean without them. I wouldn't use old 2 stroke oil. I've seen it gel in the lines. You need to check/replace the oil in the jet pump.
@TheHomePros62212 жыл бұрын
yes I think the comp is a little low I tested after running and it was even lower so I think it’s time for a topend, it has the arrestors and the cover, oil is also new

Also our Yamaha really doesn’t like to start itself. Even running well it like carb fluid to help it start as the cranking for 10 seconds when it’s cold really taxes the battery. Once she’s warm starts just fine
@TheHomePros62212 жыл бұрын
Have u checked the compression it sounds a lil low
@74nova362 жыл бұрын
@@TheHomePros6221 they were both 119 psi dead on, battery powered cranks with no throttle while doing it. I’m usually looking for matching and over 120 with a mechanical starter. Some small boat motors with pull-start only register 105 unless you spin the flywheel with a drill. Consistency is key. Sometimes old motors will bring the compression up after the rings unstick
@74nova362 жыл бұрын
@@TheHomePros6221 I’m almost certain it’s the carbs but I’m not a fan of pulling them if they’re capable of WOT, also I’ve never had a 2 stroke that enjoyed cold starting. It will start fine but I feel it doesn’t pump fuel fast enough without excessive cranking so we pop it off with carb cleaner to save 10-15 seconds of battery juice. These starters kill the small batteries the jetskis come with in no time. Even new and charged up.
