The cactus is an African milk plant. I had one for 30 years…..it has sap that looks like milk. Do No Get It In Your Eyes…. My daughter ended up in the emergency room. You guys are such a joy.

Hi guys. What a cool first stop, loved that guy! The first plant is a euphorbia trigona green version. Matt’s cactus is a cereus repandus or “apple cactus”. The little propagations are mammillaria elongata “copper king”. Great advice to water when completely dry, 1x month in winter and up to 1x a week in summer. Water completely through (think monsoon season in the desert). The little props you can put those in a shallow pot with 50/50 cactus soil/pumice. Those little guys are susceptible to root rot. Good luck with all your new plant babies 🌵

What you bought is not a member of the cactus family its a euphorbia even though it looks like a cactus. The African milk tree (Euphorbia trigona) is native to Central Africa. This plant looks a lot like a cactus -hence its nicknames: candelabra cactus, cathedral cactus, friendship cactus, and good luck cactus-but it is actually a succulent plant.

What an excellent yard sale, you got a deal on those plants, and art pieces. Those cacti will easy to maintain, not much watering, they bloom in May, June. Make sure give them the right fertilizer, ratio of different fertilizer to feed them and produce flowers, I grow cacti, succulents, epiphyllum, which is an orchid cactus from South America.
