Focusing more on character dynamics and small moments before all the crazy shit happens is the perfect choice imo. Edit: I was also rereading the manga with every chapter and it didn't feel too different. So I don't really know where the hate comes from 🤷‍♂️

For me I enjoy a lot as a person who watch 60 ep of the original I enjoy it a lot more than the original. The pacing feel less draggy and the romance more obvious. Although I do miss the tits it was very fun ride. Can’t wait for season 2.

Makeine, Girls Band Cry, Dangers in my Heart s2, Monogatari, and Delicious in Dungeon are on my top ten as well. I think the rest are: Dandadan, Mayonaka Punch, Train to the End of the World, Konosuba s3, and Demon Lord 2099. the last one is kind of an indulgent trash pick, but I have to give flowers to something I'll remember fondly for years to come. honorable mentions to Oshi no Ko s2, the 9 or so episodes of Spice and Wolf I watched before falling off for no reason, Puniru is a Kawaii Slime (seriously, it's good), No Longer Allowed in Another World, Days with My Step-sister, Senpai is an Otokonoko, The Weakest Tamer Goes On a Journey to Pick Up Trash, Blue Box, and MagiLumiere. and...sigh, Mushoku Tensei and Gushing Over Magical Girls were pretty good but i hate to honor them in any way. you know I'll keep watching but I'm not proud of it.

Ngl I didn't expect the top pick, maybe I'll give it another shot, I watched one episode and was bored out of my mind. I think my pick for worst of the year is probably Nokotan, a "comedy" that's both unfunny and boring, the trailer and opening had so much promise. And my no.1 is probably Dandadan, just pure quirky energy and swagger, every episode was a joy even tho it left off on a bit of a dud. Honorable mentions to Gushing over Magical Girls (surprisingly compelling and funny for an ecchi show), Nier Automata v1.1a, delicious in dungeon, Konosuba, MHA, OnK, and Mushoku Tensei s2. There's a good bit I want to catch up on from this year but still a good one.
