Can you explain why the relays get hot in my 06 kia Spectra. When the relays get hot the cars transmission runs rough and won't shift. I have learned so much from your videos. Please make more. The ppl need more of Hector!!!!

This is very well done. I would like to add one thing I experienced that will just add to what you have put forth. While doing the voltage drop tests, the ground in particular test it while the engine is running. I had a good voltage drop test on the alternator case without the engine running but showed 2 volts while running with a no charge situation! Wiggled the ground at the right strut tower and jumped to 13.6 volts. Not really sure how the starter was even able to operate but it did! I am a professional tech and was pulling my hair out!! Your video led me to the repair! Thanks!! Rosco

Damn....you the man...am having alternator issues on my 2008 spectra right now...will remove and have it tested. I removed the negative to battery and the car stopped running etc.

My lights just came on like that too the brake and battery light I took the negative off the battery when the car was on and it immediately died

It was the alternator. I had it tested and it failed. So 1A auto had the best deal..138.00 with limited lifetime W. So I installed from the bottom up and I am back on the road again.

Interesting. My battery drained, first charging light, then ABS system, then lights and last, the worst, transmission light. Bought a new battery, happened again. I bought an alternator AND a positive cable just to be safe. Was just the alternator. I don't have diagnostic skills. Will replace the cable one day. Not needed at the moment. It's a lot cheaper than a new or used car

was coming down some mountain awitchbacks and my brakes started failing and my tranny was failing....the same lights, brakes and battery on dash was showing also...car finally stopped running at a stop light...was lucky. AAA took me 40+ miles home...am taking the alt out tomorrow.

That whole positive cable is shot (from the alternator), corroded... Great detailed video.. I would have changed out the alternator immediately LOL

I have an 04 Kia spectra and I’m having similar issues my lights will flicker on and off but the car will start and drive just fine. I will get occasional flashes of the battery light and brake light and then it turns off. Any tips or advice I’m not the most car savvy but i was going to try and use a wire brush to clean up some corrosion and maybe check the fuse first.

Replaced alternator about a month later it’s not charging properly and the guy who sold the alternator said it’s bad(backfeed) and he could do a rebuild..... is that a legit thing? That somehow it got fried after a 1month of not driving it much and supposedly a loose battery cable(or bad battery cable).

What should I do if I have code 65-11 Brake light is on, VSA, power steering Honda Civic 2013 ex 1.8L less the 80k miles no check engine light. Test the battery 12.75 Alternator 12.73 I have also check all the fues all good. I have also check brake fluid all good. It drive good with no problem my gas’s miles have been going up. Pls help Honda asking me to pay $2343 to fix and they will not tell me what I need to fix
