Fun facts: The truck driver played the voice of Beast in the 90s cartoon. -Mystique was only supposed to have one scene but they liked her so much, they gave her more things to do. -The director is the first person Mystique transform from, in the helicopter. -The Xmen are an allegory for many things ranging from racism to homophobia. -The Xavier school is Castle Loma in Canada. I've been on it's tour 3 times, it's awesome! -The censors demanded that at *no time* should Haley Berry's *navel* be visible... However they had *no problem* with Rebecca Romijn's *naked* ass! -Sabertooth was played by former wrestler Tyler Mane. He played Michael Myers in the Halloween remakes.

11:16 - consider it from the view of the other students. Wolverine, one of the toughest-appearing mutants suddenly yells in the middle of the night and they hear Rogue scream in fear/surprise. The students then hear Wolverine desperately call for help in the middle of the night. When the kids get there, they see Wolverine having his life drained away and Rogue is perfectly unharmed. Rogue looks at Storm and says 'It was an accident'. Are the kids supposed to know that Rogue went into Wolverine's room to see what was wrong with him, or are they going to think that Rogue snuck into Wolverine's room to drain some life? As far as thy can see Wolverine woke up to the threat, but then Wolverine called for help.

Another curiosity of the film: the actor who plays Sapo (Toad) is Ray Park, one of the best stunt doubles of the 90s and 00s. Aside from Toad, he was also two very memorable characters: Darth Maul in the modern day Star Wars saga, and the Headless Knight from Sleepy Hollow.

Terence Stamp, David Hemblin and, Christopher Lee were considered for Magneto till Ian McKellen was cast. Edward Burns, Jonny Lee Miller, Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Tom Cruise, Eric Mabius and Owen Wilson were considered for Cyclops. Lucy Lawless, Maria Bello, Julianne Moore, and Selma Blair were considered for Jean Grey. Christina Ricci, Natalie Portman, Evan Rachel Wood, Drew Barrymore, Katie Holmes, Alicia Silverstone, Katherine Isabelle, Jennifer Love Hewitt, and Sarah Michelle Geller were considered for Rogue. Viki FYI: Wolverine 's healing factor is literally unlimited...He's even fought with the HULK many times to a standstill, survived nuclear bombs and drowning. Glad u enjoyed this one, it may be 22 years old, but still really good. And I can understand how Magneto feels about humanity--he's seen the worse it has to offer and lost his family.

Contrary to what most people believe, comic art is some of the most beautiful art out there. Comics are not something exclusively for children. Comic artists have managed to express visually and in dialogue many of the things that literature failed to reflect. Great geniuses like Frank Miller or Alan Moore have been of enormous influence not only in later comics, but in other artistic fields such as literature, cinema, or advertising. Also contrary to what people believe, comics in the superhero genre are much deeper, more intense and for adults than it may seem. Not surprisingly, 90 percent of the comics created around the world belong to the superhero genre. And finally, again contrary to what people believe, the Marvel publisher has published a large number of the great masterpieces of the entire history of comics. The great works of comics are not limited to things like Maus or Watchmen, but within the history of Marvel characters (and also of DC, but this movie is from Marvel) there are comic masterpieces, such as "Born again" by Frank Miller and David Mazzuchelli (about Daredevil), "Marvels" by Kurt Busiek and Alex Ross, "Wolverine" by Chris Claremont and Frank Miller, or "God loves, Man kills" by Chris Claremont and Brent Anderson (about X-Men) . For all this, and also contrary to what most critics believe, the superhero genre, in the cinema, has also given rise to very deep films, of great quality, and very adult. Cases like this "X-Men", and other films, such as "Logan", "Joker", Nolan's Batman trilogy, "Superman" (the first, by Donner) or "The Avengers" amply demonstrate this.

Even though the X-MEN are not in their Jim Lee look from the comics, I gotta admit the movie is great for an early X-MEN film and Rebecca Romijn Stamos is the best actress to play Mystique more than Jennifer Lawrence who is not that bad, But Rebecca Romijn Stamos is so gorgeous in blue makeup or without. This movie blazed the trail for what the MCU would become :) I remember seeing it in the theatre at the tender age of 19. I had to eat alot of shit growing up for reading comic books, etc ... ... Welcome to the X-Men. Its an Uncanny Universe. You will love it. A much better hero team than the Avengers, in my opinion. I guess its cause I'll always have a soft spot for the freaks and the outliers. As I am an outlier myself. Enjoy it all the way to the end with Logan. Do yourself a favor and dive into the comics. Specially if you want to really understand the Dark Phoenix storyline. Epic stuff. If they bring back the franchise, I think Storm should be front and center. As she was in the comics. The X-Men have the best female heroes and villains in the Marvel Universe.
