They were nominated but the Oscars are political and not the best candidates. Alan Arkin for supporting actor in Little Miss Sunshine? It's a fun film but no one will remember him in that role. Academy just felt he was due. Whitaker is usually an underrated actor but he isn't as good as Leo. Leo has zero Oscars and Forest got his that year for Last King of Scotland. At this rate, they'll have to give him Leo of those legacy ones when he is dead or old. I think it was Matt Damon who said that the rest of the actors just get chosen for their films after Leo has passed on them. :)

really does suck how blood diamonds are real. just because people in developed, rich parts of the world want a diamond for a wedding, people in other parts of the world are being dragged into a life of violence and suffering, where their lives are worth less than a rock. sad, how we can unknowingly cause so much suffering. that's why it's important to know how our stuff is made, where it comes from. our enjoyment could be someone else's exploitation...

It isn't just that way. You skip the introduction speech? He's saying it is/was like that with ivory, rubber, oil, gold and he didn't even mention opium, spices, salt. cocaine and slaves. Unfortunately the world isn't all black & white but has many shades of grey. Nations killed each other even when they weren't fighting over "stuff". Sometimes it's just prestige or hate.

Great reaction 👍👍 ..... this movie is 1 of my favorites along side with (hotel Rwanda) movie , it's crazy how it's based on actual events of villagers being killed and people being killed over diamonds especially that long sleeve or short sleeve part .... There's a documentary about blood diamonds and it shows people that went through it .....in these kind of movies it shows how much of a consumer people are in each country to the point that it never crossed our minds on how alot of the African people got treated and what they go through just so that we can have things that sparkles when the sunlight hits it.....I'm pretty sure still to this day there's blood being spilled over diamonds
@joelwillems4081 Жыл бұрын
But diamonds aren't rare. We don't need the conflict diamonds to satisfy sparkly jewelry. Besides Amsterdam having a vault of them, so do places in Russia and India. Places like DeBeers wants to keep the value high when they are probably worth 1/10th and 99% of people can't tell the difference with synthetics.

I just watched your reaction to "The Shining" and _LOVED_ it. Y'all are so cute the way you hold each others hands during the scary parts. I had throat cancer and had my voice box removed, so I can't speak any more, so consequently I've become somewhat of a recluse and it means so much to me to feel like I'm watching movies and TV shows like you're here with me. I have a few suggestions for movie/TV series reactions Stephen King has many more movies made based on his books. I own all of his books, and love when they make movie adaptations of them: "Misery", "Big Driver", "A Perfect Marriage" and "Cujo" are other King movies based on novels and/or short stories. One of the best series I've ever seen, was "The Haunting of Hill House". It's a 10 episode mini series. It will scare you, make you cry and I think you'd love it. It's not Stephen King, but it sure _COULD_ be. Any way, keep up the great reactions. I love all of you guys.🥰

Leo's role was really risky, and at such a young age as well.

Sierra Leone did have a civil war, a Private Military Company called Executive Outcomes from South Africa was hired by the government to destroy the rebels.
