Idk if he is being honest. I feel it should do more. A Texas Speed and Performance 427 should make 700+ at the crank. So i would say it makes about 1000 at the crank. If what he said is true 840hp. I just don't see how 300 HP from 22lbs of boots is good. One bar should double the factory HP and, I'm thinking since it's probably pump gas it should make around 1100 at the wheel. I think he is sand bagging because the way that car moves with all that weight it can't be that little HP.

Id say for a race build like the hoonicorn its a better car cuz race cars are meant for a certain amount of punishment but there's a limit where punishment turns into destruction id say the cutty is the easier of the 2 to work on for that instance plus its a simple huge v8 paired with a precision turbo what could be simpler if done right. My question is was the hoonicorns issue the same this time as the race with the gtr or was it something gearbox centered?

If you take in account for all of the disadvantages of the cutlass, it technically is the better car. 1000 lbs heavier and almost 600 hp less and it's able to be that close of a finish in my mind it's the better car. Not to mention he did it himself and it's a daily driver.

I understand the underdog aspect and it being appealing in that nature but saying it's the better car is a stretch. The hoonicorn you'd expect to be insane, you wouldn't expect the Cutlass to be remotely competitive but it is. A lot more bang for the buck (arguably).

I feel like if you’re going to keep bringing in cars that are so down on power and up on weight whilst also resisting giving them a competitive chance (like a hit/roll) at least let us see and hear more about those cars. We get you all want the hoonicorn to win and these videos are great, but it’s just boring having it smash all the underdogs and you all support it through and through. Why no hit or a car length on the final race? Let the hoonicorn lose. Imagine if the Cutlass broke a shaft or whatever happened in this one, probably game over yet still a heads up that he was destined to lose on the third run.

So basically, yes, a headstart, but not a distance and instead a reaction time headstart. If the other car has a driver that's got a very good reaction time, getting the hit doesn't help nearly as much but if they have a better reaction time than you do, you'll always gain vs head-to-head and losing at the start every time.

They are the ones picking the cars the hoonicorn races against, it is never going to lose best out of three. They negotiate to add suspense and make it seem like the home built car has a chance, but allowing negotiation also allows them to negotiate it back in favor of the hoonicorn when they do come up against a really fast car. The hoonicorn is never going to lose best out of three unless someone behind the scenes messes up and negotiates wrong or picks a car they didn't do enough research on.

The Hoonicorn is an extraordinary machine, so if the bar isn't somewhat close they shouldn't even be on the show. The Tesla Plaid is a unique car, but still falls short when you compare it to the Hoonicorn. The 2J swap in that off road build was definitely extraordinary, it just didn't have the top end. The GTR was super powerful, one of the only cars I've seen on this show that has met the bar. UG Lambos or GTR's like that one will step up and make a good race. It's still pretty early in the season, so I'm pretty sure they have some good one's lined up, but they need to be something out of the norm to run the HC, otherwise what's the point? There's a lot of cars that 1320video film and Thatracingchannel that can give the HC a run, it alk comes down to whether or not they're really looking for something to compete with it, or only picking cars that they know won't win, They did a lot of that last season.

I love all the cars you guys get on this show to race the Hoonicorn. The only problem is the Hoonicorn. Unless you get something built incredibly similar, you will never find a car that can actually compete with the Hoonicorn on that surface. You're always gonna run into the problem of too much power and not enough grip, or too much weight and not enough power. And that doesnt even include the fact that the Hoonicorn seemingly gets turned up to run faster anytime it loses a race...i mean it's a noticable difference from one race to the other. Do a better job of getting legitimate competitors for the 'Corn or stop using that damn car or go back to regular This vs That. This is insanely boring to watch the 'Corn mop up everything and when another car actually has a chance to win the episode, all of a sudden the 'Corn is running half of a second faster then the previous run.

So after just watching the cutlass vs the taxi this was actually really fun to immediately watch how it stacked up against the Hoonicorn, it really puts into perspective exactly how fast the cutlass is and how fast the Hoonicorn is.
