Check out the small broken brass fragment on the top right relic bd. by the ox knob (turn it around)... Looks like a fragment to a trigger guard most likley an early rifle. The small hole is a pin hole to hold it in place.

Stay hydrated and keep plenty of ice with you on those really hot days! Here's a tip put your neck towel in ice water wrap around to cover the back of your neck along with some ice cubes #! All the best Jeremy. P.s. when drying your clothes keep a dry towel in the dryer makes for faster drying time#!

Great old area but it's no fun digging in hard dry ground. I would go back when the ground is wet, soft and highly conductive. You guys always detect the best places.

I've only dug one Indian, about 7 years ago, an 1889 in a WWII era civilian dump. I found a '51 Roosevelt in the back window of a Mercury Comet rusting in peace on Hawaii

long story short. my dad was in detecting club there was a story about a silver miner. he died. they never found his stash. at a meeting as they were talking about it. one guy got up and left. he rock hammered the sides of his windows in the house he had built and the window weights he used to hold the windows up were solid silver. there was a lot of windows.
