I'm British, I don't hear much of a difference in American accents personally, probably because I've spoke to them for a long time. The only accents I can differentiate is heavy southern accents which sound incredibly stupid.

9 is much easier than it seems though, because you just subtract the original number at the end. 43 times 9 is just 43 times 10 (which is very easy) minus 43.

Scott I have to thank you from the bottom of my heart, your show has brought my passion for maths all over again. I believe all children have the ability to study maths and I feel it is our birthright. You are so passionate I wish all teachers bring the best in the students. But my thanks to you is beyond you can imagine. When I was young we were not encouraged when I was growing up. But somehow my spirit would take such courage I did pass all my exams with flying colours. Not bragging just saying and I am grateful that I was miraculously drawn to you tube for your presence. Oh God was I excited to hear you say that all the children should be given an opportunity to learn maths. I love your show. Blessings forever.

adding 38 in multiples is harder than if the number was 18 , 22, or 31, but easier than say, 67, 84, 58, etc. It depends on the number being added to determine how fast he can go - that said, even if the number was 88, there's still only a handful of people on the planet who can do it as fast.
