Same here. Honestly I feel like the eighties are a state of mind and a way of life if you will it to be. Some of us are lucky enough to have lived during that time and understand that the dream of that time is so much more ellusive than anything worth desiring today. Today most artists aren't willing to allow for any sense of true emotionality and longing. It's out there. But definitely not mainstream like it was then. It's like trying to catch the wind.

I used to listen to this song when I got high. I’ve been a little over a year clean, but now I use this song as a motivation to keep pushing forward. I remember being homeless, and just feeling helpless and thinking things wouldn’t change. I feel a sense of relieve now when I listen to this Edit 2022: Thank you all for your kind words because you really don’t know how much they’ve impacted me 🙏🏽My mom passed in august of 2020 so it’s been a tough year. I could’ve used at any point, but I chose not to: my mom supported me unconditionally, even when I didn’t deserve it, and I know staying clean would make her proud. Life can seem like it hits you over & over again, but we all have the strength to perservere. To anyone going through anything similar; it gets better. if I can push through all of this? So can you. Listening in 2022. Still the best song from the amazing Human League, IMO.

I remember growing up a little girl listening to this song and I fell in love with it, as I loved George Michael, and so many others. Still one of my favorites to this day. It's one the songs within my Pandora's playlist. I don't even bother with the new music. I open up Pandora and select an 80s artist and I listen to it all day. The 80s were the best!!!

My sentiments exactly. I think most people are like that. They tend to listen to mainly the music they grew up with. I honestly couldn't name a single song and the artist on the charts these days.

This song is simply beautiful. It encapsulates what it means to be human.

Really? Wouldn’t you say that most humans spread ugliness rather than beauty? I mean, take black culture for instance.

+Lisa Taylor This song is classic and there are plenty of ppl out there who don't know who produced this song. the same ones that sang background for Morris Day and worked with Janet Jackson and many more. js

Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis’s production is all over this song! You could easily see SOS Band, Alexander O’Neil, Cherrelle, or even Janet Jackson singing this song. Greatness!

I’m 51 now and this one still gets me. I rode through my old childhood neighborhood while blasting this masterpiece and I was overwhelmed with emotion. Good emotions that took me back to my innocence and the simplicity of life back then. I’m crying as I type this! Absolutely nostalgic! ❤️

Grew up in the 80's and early '90s... I miss both periods and get nostalgic about music from both decades, but it's something about certain '80s songs that just does something to me. '90s songs don't do this to me. These '80s songs just hit different.
