I was hoping they were going to answer that question in this podcast. How do they get by?
@TheHuntingPublic5 жыл бұрын
We touched on it briefly in the podcast, but we (Aaron, Zach, Greg) own a media production company called "The Woodsguys Inc." That is our jobs, we create digital content. Most of what we do is directly related to The Hunting Public brand, but we also create content for other businesses as well. The money comes from our partnerships, KZbin monetization, promo codes, etc. Hope that makes sense. Thanks for watching!

Well said guys and thanks for promoting your hunting culture and keepin' it real. We've been saying it for years. Start by asking yourself "do you really, truly, passionately love it?" If there were no TV shows, no online platforms, no chance at all for any notoriety, would you still hunt? As an industry, TV or digital, we have to actively try and promote hunting on whatever platforms we have the ability to do so, and keep it REAL. It shouldn't ever be about me, me, me. It's about the culture of the hunter. Happy hunting men!

Guys I love it! My family thinks I'm half nuts to love hunting and the woods as much as I do. Thankfully they put up with me getting up early and getting ready morning after morning. They love the natural protein deer and turkey provide. I only hunt public land. Love the challenge. If you ever are looking for an employee please keep me in mind. I'll hold the camera!

I like that you don’t use scent control but you hunt the wind, etc. I am a conservative Christian and I like that your language is mostly family friendly, I don’t want my boys to watch shows with bad language. I enjoyed your podcast, I’m very sensitive about too many ads, etc. you have a good balance. The thing that drew me to your videos is the authenticity of the hunt. I love how you guys don’t hunt food plots or hunt bred deer on private. There’s something very nostalgic about seeing you guys in your own camo setup, using your own gear, and being relatable to every guy hunting with his buddies. Keep it up. Hands down best hunting show.. not just on KZbin.. ever. This is a new way of delivering content and it’s better than anything that’s been put out before.

Very cool vid guys 👍 So many hunting companies or hunting individuals live or die by their sponsorships...which is why the vast majority of them fail. Folks are tired of infomercials within hunting shows. There needs to be multiple streams of income. Would you believe that I used one hunting product for 27 years before I received a check from them? 🙂 If you can't recommend a product to your readers, viewers and in my case clients too...why use the product!? So many switch from product to product to chase dollars and I believe that loyalty is the new avenue for the hunting industry. Well...I hope so. Keep up the great work guys...I'm a huge fan! You have to find your niche that matches your passion and you guys have nailed it...

Hello guys, long story short, you all are very transparent with us so I'm going to be very transparent about my comment. I enjoy your videos much more because I am able to see how you are able to hunt great deer. The scouting including, camera placements, trail scouting, pond scouting, reading ridges on maps, tree stands, and all the information you provide me with is much more valuable than seeing sponsors info, and without you shoving these ADs down my throat, I'm able to see what I need to have a great hunt. For example, I'm going to buy a muddy tree stand because I have seen how versatile and useful they are based on the hunts you guys have filmed. And I have looked at other tree stands, not just MUDDYs, and I personally like their stands better because I like how simple they are, and they are easy to set up. Great philosophy, great show, great company, and great genuine people. Thank you, God bless your families and I hope to see you around for many years.

If there is a product your using I want to know IT WORKS!. I don't want to waste my hard earned money on crap that doesn't work. Keep up the great work and thank you for keeping it real! Excellent advice! I don’t understand the fickle mindset of some people who unsubscribe over something small that they don’t agree with even after being a fan for many months or longer. I attend the NWTF Convention every year, and I am blown away at the number of people I overhear talking to OEM’s trying to get them to sponsor them. Not to mention the number of “brand influencers” running around is staggering. The ways of media and marketing are changing rapidly. Personally, I produce my limited content as a way of recording our adventures, sharing with others, and do what I can to educate others. I find my kids going back watching old videos and laughing, the same way people have done for years when they see old home movies 5, 10, 15 years afterward. I have been approached by a couple of people about joining their pro-staff and creating content exclusively for them, but that just isn’t for me. I already have a job that I enjoy and allows me to hunt, plus I can record and edit whatever content I want. You guys, Carman, Born & Raised, Randy Newberg, & others have been an inspiration to me, and I love watching your content. Keep up the good job, and there will always be haters. I find it unbelievable that in a day when hunting is under attack by leftist organizations, that we as hunters often tear each other apart over the smallest of differences.

I have watched you guys for several years. Shane Simpson is also another channel I watch religiously. What sets you guys apart is your unique ability to relate to the average hunter. Not everyone can afford a $1200 bow and a 400 acre hunting lease fully planted with food plots. In the last 10 years I have seen less trucks pulling up to state land, and more facebook posts asking where to find private hunting leases. It's almost like hunting is becoming a hobby for the rich. I started out with a $100 craigslist bow and a Panasonic Play Sport camera 15 years ago. Luckily, I'm now in a position in life to be able to afford the nicer bows and fancy equipment. But none of it has made me more successful, it's just made hunting more convenient. The outdoor channel shows would have you convinced that you will never harvest a deer, turkey, duck etc if you don't buy product "x". Above all else, what sets you guys apart is your passion. You can see it in every video. It is 100% real hunting. The good, the bad, the ugly....you guys capture it all. I honestly had no idea you guys did this as a living....and that says a lot! So many "professional hunters" hinge on sponsorships and it shows. Aaron is spot on when he says you can see that the passion fades in these guys over time. Suddenly the focus is off the experience of the outdoors, and the spotlight is put on the product that brings in money. Keep up the great work!

I think we watch you because; we are guys like you. You don’t just talk the talk, you most efficiently walk what you talk. l believe the content of the way you approach a hunting situation is to inform and educate, “we”, the average public hunting guy. We may not possess the skills you guys have but l believe you want to educate, without implying through a product sponsor, that if your going to harvest a nice buck, you need to use that product to do so. That is what is so refreshing about watching your site while giving us the play by play. Guys keep doing what you do because THP, in my opinion, is one of the best if not the best hunting video site’s on U Tube. Thank you for your refreshing approach to the hunt and the way you present it without the focus on a sponsor.

I have to call it like it is and address the pink elephant on this one. I fell in love with you guys on another platform where you got your start before THP. I feel a lot of people did too because it showed another aspect of hunting we could relate to. I public land hunt and travel from spot to spot. Not everyone is blessed with a 1200 acre Iowa farm to grow big whitetails on. I don't know the details of what happened between you guys, nor do I really care, but it would be nice to give credit where credit is due. Zach and yourself had to have learned a decent amount while with the other show for two or so years. You were exposed to a side of the business most don't get to see. Most people don't get that type of grooming or exposure. I had a mentor in my line of work and while we are no longer talk, if it wasn't for him, I wouldn't be where I am today. You guys really do a great job of limiting the sponsorship ad pushes. I found OnX through you guys and absolutely loved it. Was nice to get 10 or 20% off something I was already going to buy. You guys have extremely amazing hunts where you show the ups and downs.

And it’s amazing how I see the similarities in the thought process that goes into new ground and new animals. I feel like I’m sitting right next to yal. Particularly turkey hunting , my main passion . I’ve never watched turkey hunting content as realistic and down to earth as yals. It’s real. I spent a lot of my long drives to turkey hunt in other states this season watching yals videos. It pumps me up. The hunting public the difference between y’all and big tv shows is y’all are relatable. Those big tv stars and their tactics and strategies and ways of huntin do not pertain to 99% of regular outdoorsman. I can’t go out to my holler in the mountains and try to use their ways of huntin and kill a 200 inch whitetail. Y’all hunt real places and hunt just like normal guys, only difference is y’all have a better understanding of what works and how to locate where deer are. You can hunt as much as you want in a spot that you like, but if there ain’t no deer there, you ain’t goin to kill any deer no matter how hard you hunt. Thanks guys!!

As long as THP retains your identity and autonomy and stays true to your mission the sponsors will respect that. You guys are featuring the most unique and true to life hunting show anywhere. The reality is that THP is showing the upcoming generation how to have a quality hunting experience in a world where finding a decent place to hunt relegates most people to public ground. That is the new reality for many of today's hunters, especially young people who love to hunt and don't have a family farm or money for a lease. If the sponsors don't see the value of what you are doing they are living in the past. Your business model is the future of hunting shows.

Great info. KZbin has really taken over the hunting video scene. TV hunting shows are just about advertising just as y’all said. Watching on KZbin we get to see the good the bad and the ugly. I also appreciate that y’all promote other folks channels as well. Really enjoyed watching catman and the untamed this year. And pinhotti project. Don’t change a thing fellas.

I want to give my humble opinion on this topic. You guys have done great with the way you deal with sponsors. On X is awesome and the way its presented is incredible on your show…it is something I use and won’t be without. That said I have to say my experience with Tethrd was not positive at all. I figured it was a fluke when I sked them if their platforms were in stock and was told yes it would be at your house in ten days or less. Then in twenty days I wrote them and was told tree straps were holding things up, but my box would ship that week...it did not. I wrote the next week and asked hey guys whats going on, I got the impression I was bothering them as I was told we have been shipping all last week and yours will be coming this week as promised. It ended up taking over a month and multiple inquiries before the product got to me which was promised ( literally five minutes before I placed the order) to be in stock and to my house within ten days. I understand things happen but I have seen where multiple people are refering to the same type of thing. Tethrd if you are listening….take a lesson from Dan Infalt, don’t make promises, especially if its just to get someone off your back. It comes across as if you are purposely lying. The fact that you don’t have a phone forces people to read into a text, if you know what I mean. Transparency is a must, if its going to take a month, someone would rather hear that rather than feeling lied to. Trust me its not good for repeat business. All my saddle stuff is Aero Hunter, because they kept their word with me. Sorry for robbing your comment board guys, I’m obviously still a bit more agitated about that than I thought…lol. Honestly I’m hoping Tethrd is a great company and my experience was a fluke or miscommunication. But the fact that I couldn’t talk to someone on the phone made it impossible to know whether it was multiple people there, not communicating, or if I was being jerked around. GET A PHONE, for God sake!

I went with aero to. Just because they had been around so long. I do plan on giving tethered a shot down the line because they are hunters. But this was my first saddle and both companies said 10 weeks to ship, it just came down to experience. Aero had it
@Tbowie135 жыл бұрын
@@swalker9482 hey thanks for the reply. Yes I was told by Aero ten weeks at first. Then I said when my season opener was and Debbie the lady who answered the phone said let me look real quick. She said I will get you one within a month...which they did, to the day they said they would ship. Again, with Tethrd they told me the product was in stock and ready to ship. Then when I wrote back in 20 days, 10 days after the promised day, it was like I was bothering them. Like you'll get it when you get it. Which is fine if that's what the understanding was from the start. But you don't make a promised date and say "in stock" and then when the order is placed five minutes later it's not in stock. Anyhow, I felt like I was being lied to, to sum it up, and I didn't like it at all. They gave me 3 promise dates and didn't make even one of them. Again, I hope it was a fluke and miscommunication in the company, but I have seen other people say very similar things about Tethrd in online forums. If they had a phone, I think it would solve a lot of the confusion. I hope Tethrd does well, but before long there are bound to be more competitors in the saddle game. At that point their customer service will either rise to the occasion, or they will be a "flash in the pan"!

I've was watching hunting TV shows for some time. I steared away from some of the bigger guys because I'm just a normal guy doing a normal average hunt. One of the biggest reasons I love watching you guys is that your just regular good ole boys who love to just hunt. Your not doing shows in Africa or big deals like that. Yoou drive normal cars (some beaters) well so do I lol. I just wanted to say Job Well Done Boys. You guys have a great show.

Watching your content changed the way I hunt and I’ve been doing it my whole life. The one thing I like most about hunting shows is how easy it is to...shut it down! Like turn it off, grab the bow, jump in the truck and go do it yourself. Tell you the truth. Towards the end of deer season after watching all your videos from the start I just couldn’t keep up. And I didn’t get anything from Turkey season watched. Life is busy and full time adulting is hard lol. This fall I’ll be taking some cameras with me and focusing on the one thing I can do, bow hunt with recurves and last minute stands, and try to get some videos posted for anyone who cares. Keep it up and thanks for being true.

Great job guys! Excellent treatment of a complicated and controversial subject. I was doing this on a big Georgia plantation back in the 90's with a big, tough chocolate Lab named "Mann" and he showed us how it was done. We were good trackers, but he found deer we'd never have found and we really learned a lot about fatal hits versus non-fatal. Eventually we could tell by the way Mann acted whether or not we would find the deer. If he was trying to pull my arm off on the leash, we'd get him. If he was bored or easy going, the deer was still alive and going. I hope to see dog tracking legal everywhere--it truly means recovery of a lot of deer that would otherwise be lost.

This is the best most original idea in the filmed hunting community there has been in a LONG time. My 4 year old daughter loves to watch it with me. She even gets quiet when the deer or turkeys get near so she doesnt "spook" them.

@@TheHuntingPublic yeah its funny and a good training tool at the same time lol. I'm hoping I'll be able to take her out turkey hunting next year with me in my hub blind and maybe even deer hunting in it this year (if I can get mom on board with that lol) there have been a few times where deer or turkeys have been spooked off in some of your videos by one thing or another and she thinks it was her fault cause it most of the time it tends to happen when she makes a noise. So I started telling her it happened cause she made the noise (been watching you guys for a few years now) works a little better then trying to do it when actually hunting.

Amen guys on following your passion. I'm still a bit of a blind squirrel when it comes to hunting...only have pressured MI public land to hunt..occasionally getting a doe. But you are opening my 56 yr old fading eyes. I expect that once I've got most of your tips working, I'll be getting help dragging a deer out instead of helping others. On another note. Hope you can address reporting poachers. I'm pretty sure I ran across a pair. Earlier, and talking with fellow hunters, I'm more certain the two have been moving around in the area. Lost a lot of deer pics within a week.
