I have a pothos that has been growing in the same leca beads and pot for "seriously" over 40 years!!! I got it those many years ago when leca - hydroponic home parties were a new thing.

Nice to see you back on youtube! your video about bugs and neem oil helped me alot! I actually bought the bubdle from your site. Can you have videos about root rot and switching plants from soil to leca? Im a beginner plant parent & your wisdom means a lot to us plant beginners. Thank you for sharing to us your knowledge!

What a beautiful plant! I’m glad I saw this before going to IKEA! I guess I need to save up and get the LECA with all my supplies from your website. It will save money and plants in the long run.

I thank you for sharing your knowledge.. Im still new to passive hydroponics.. Wish i could buy your pots and fertilizer but i dont think you ship to the Philippines

Hey! Question - do you have to use LECA when growing plants hydroponically? I want to grow pothos, peace lilies, spider plants, etc in glass containers and decorate with colorful glass pebbles. Adding the LECA would not add to the aesthetic I'm trying to create, so I wanted to know if the LECA is absolutely necessary. Thank you so much! Your videos are awesome and super helpful.

FYI. The LECA from IKEA "ODLA" is *made in Germany, not China* It's somewhat regular in shape but pitted like the moon

The leca I bought from Ikea years ago was made in china.
@timothygreer18810 ай бұрын
@@joannec5147 I think the newer EU rules prohibit the import of a lot more stuff these days. They also promote products from member states and Eastern Germany is making a lot of red clay stuff

Hi. Loved the vid. Wish we had your pots in Australia. Do you soak pebbles in KLN solution for all plants going into leca?
@thehydroponicsguy23793 жыл бұрын
yes - I like KLN for giving the roots a boost and resisting disease. Having said that - warm temperatures at the root zone is the #1 element for propagating. Does more than chemicals.

Just wondering: I know you use DynaGro; I have foliage pro and grow, but should I be using them together or does one replace the other?
@thehydroponicsguy23794 жыл бұрын
good question - nutrients can get complicated. Foliage-Pro is formulated for interior plants and is used by commercial companies whose plants never see the light of day. The Gro formula is designed for regular houseplants and I think it's more versatile. One can replace other - but don't use them together. When Foliage-Pro is used up I would switch to Gro.

Interesting video, but so far my potted clivias have been thriving in plain soil (just tap water, no fertilizer) and have larger healthier roots than yours. Not sure I will try hydroponics.

Can fungus gnats live in Leca?
@thehydroponicsguy23794 жыл бұрын
Good question! No - fungus gnats WILL NOT live in LECA because the pebbles are ceramic. Fungus gnats need decaying material to live and LECA pebbles never decay or deteriorate..
