It really hits home since it was revealed in the comic book that Banner himself was abused by his father. This show may have lacked in special effects, but more than made up for it with storytelling.

I always admired David's bravery in this scene in how he stood up to the abusive father at the door in trying to help the situation, even if it would result in a hard fall for David... It was heartbreaking no one in the community was willing to help David in this situation..Certainly a message sent in for us to be better as humans..
@teijaflink2226

And this sort of explains too why he always got into so much trouble because majority of people just don't care enough and don't want to get involved. David has a huge heart, he almost cares too much or maybe he saw it almost as his det tovuse hulk because people just don't care.

With all the brute force of the Hulk, he still knew what was right and wrong. This video had me so emotional. In the midst of all that anger, all that rage he could still be a gentle giant. I agree with one of the comments, the special effects may look dated, but the story for this episode has touched our hearts and that's what matters. This is what made the Hulk tv show so special and such a rarity,it enjected real life events into an all-time classic scifi story! And this is one of the many episodes that showed that as it focused heavily on the lessons about child abuse. Great episode that once again showed Bill's magnificent gold medal of acting showing his love and concern for Mark. And also showing Lou's magnificent acting talent being able to show the exact primitive nature of the creature he protrayed and a huge imposing physique that also went perfectly well in this episode and all of the other ones!!!

6 million dollar man, bionic woman, greatest american hero, wonder woman, buck rogers, the A team, knight rider, airwolf, Battlestar galactica..... All great shows. Might seem silly now but they had something that todays shows are missing. They were entertaining. They didn't waste time on being preachy, agenda driven and virtue signaling. It was a time to put your brain on pause, escape from reality, sit down and enjoy the show. I was being raised in an abusive, dysfunctional home. My parents split up when I was young. Around 5-6 years old. My father was the nice, normal one who didn't believe in yelling at or hitting his kids. My mother was the abuser. She retained custody of us kids and her abuse didn't begin until after the split. As a result, I turned towards watching LOTS of TV every single day as a way to provide myself with escape and comfort from misery. The incredible hulk was one of many tv shows I watched and enjoyed. Even though in this show it's the father that's the abuser, this episode really spoke to me. I identified with it alot. Oh, how I wished a superhero, or anyone else would come to the rescue of me and my siblings from our mother. But much like the neighbors who give David banner the cold shoulder and ignore him when he pleads with them to help him help the child, our neighbors also did nothing for me even though they were well aware of my mothers daily abuse (and it was daily). As they could hear her yelling and screaming outside the 4 walls of our place. Especially in the summer when our windows were wide open because we had no air conditioning. Our neighbors would remark to us kids, "boy, your mother sure does yell alot".

As someone that has been around domestic abuse this scene reminds me a lot of Mother and father going at it. Constant fights. Father starts to drink. Mother starts to get depressed. Father starts to take it out on the mom. They argue and get it involved around their children. Father starts to beat/hurt his children. Mother won't do anything about it half the time. Because she still loves her husband though she doesn't know what to do because she is depressed. So she doesn't tell anyone and brushes it off. Same goes with the neighbor thing. I've been beaten and went to the neighbors for help. They don't give a Damn. Or any fks. They will continue to ignore you. It wouldn't matter if you knew that Russia has a nuclear bomb.
