Ancient Scrolls to Modern Books: The History of the Bible

Many years ago I met Diane & got to know her & tried to make friends with her, but she said I was too serious, & didn’t like the same things she did. When I tried to interest her in Bible studies she said she was too young to get serious about God. Her parents had always been greatly indulgent & for Diane’s 16th birthday her father presented her with the keys to a brand new sports car. She immediately grabbed the keys & left to go pick up all her friends to go joy riding. She didn’t come home for dinner, or later for bedtime even though she had school the next morning. Late the next morning her mother answered the knock on the front door to find the police standing there. Diane had been killed late the previous night when she lost control of her car on a curve and had vaulted off the highway & into a ravine far below. When the sun came up it revealed the horrific scene. The sun was reflected in the broken glass, alerting a driver on the road above to what had happened who called highway patrol. Through the years I’ve thought many times of this. We may feel like waiting til we are older to become acquainted with God, feeling that we are too young. But we’re never too young to die. 😢

The segment, "real and lasting treasure" (23:11) was heartbreaking and makes a very good point! What speak to me the most are the Gospels, Acts and the Epistles. I've highlighted my many favorite verses throughout the Bible, such as Romans 8:38-39.
