Why you need to watch the in-flight safety briefing

On 31 October, 224 people lost their lives when a Russian charter flight from Sharm el-Sheikh to St Petersburg crashed. Like high-profile aviation disasters last year involving Malaysia Airlines and AirAsia, disaster struck at altitude. The tragic sequence may create the impression that an inflight emergency is invariable fatal and therefore paying attention to the safety briefing is a waste of time.
This video will show why watching the in-flight safety briefing is actually important.

During the evacuation, it would be essential to hold the assist handle....

I'm the only one in my family that pay attention of the safety demo! My sister can t even wear a seatbelt right, she puts it on and it's not tightened so it causes her to go flying forward on takeoff and landing, it's pretty funny. I know every point of safety on an aircraft but that's because listen, and always will

In my long experience, even in a real evacuation where seconds count, people WILL NOT leave their bags and phones behind, they will block the aisle fumbling for their stuff, the entitlement and lack of urgency was incredible!!!

There's a photo online of passengers in a real emergency not wearing the oxygen mask correctly. Then there's the passengers fleeing from that horrible crash of the Super jet 100 with LUGGAGE IN THEIR HANDS! They slowed everyone down by taking their luggage, and more people could probably have survived had it not been for those selfish twats. This is why everyone should always listen to the safety announcement.

I know that the safety procedures on JetBlue A320 flights from EWR to Florida never change and I just give my attention for review.

@1:37 Crossed-arms are certainly not a life threatening action, but today's research states the contrary. Why? First, holding your arms straight outwards permits one to maintain greater balance to avoid leaning back on the slide during the descent (especially important on higher aircraft slides (e.g. 777/787/A380 etc.). Leaning backwards increases your risk for injury to the back of the head while increasing the likelihood of falling backwards after you reach the bottom of the slide. Second, arms outwards permits "helpers" at the bottom to grab each arm and assist one off more quickly. This also clears the bottom for the next evacuee. Again, not the worst practice, but outdated info for efficient aircraft egress.

It's not a real airline. It looks like a mock up used for testing and training pilots and cabin crew. Edit: as many of you have pointed out it looks like EasyJet.
