I strongly suggest putting your mulch OVER your irrigation pipes, not under. As one website says, "Covering your drip irrigation system with about 2-3 inches of mulch is beneficial because the mulch will protect your water from the sun. This prevents evaporation and further conserves the water in your irrigation system." Plus, you then irrigate your soil, not your mulch. It's good to see Omar back, but I missed seeing your Mom! I just love her!!

Thank you! That was actually another question I had. I have done some mulch now so it’s really good to know about the irrigation under the mulch.

@@TheIndigoEscapedon’t forget to wear your retainer at night to keep your teeth staying where the orthodontist wants them. As a retired dental hygienist, many people slack off on wearing their retainer and then have teeth movement. I bet you couldn’t stop smiling for days after getting them off! It is so nice to not have your lips and tongue having to adjust to braces and being able to eat what you want without having to spend so much time cleaning bits of food stuck on them.

Thank you! I wear my lower one just at night but my upper one I wearing as much as possible because my upper teeth already moved a bit within days. Once I feel the retainer is more in place, I’ll wear the upper one just at night! Is that OTT?? Thank you for your advice! I don’t want to go to square one ever again!

If you want to cultuvate kiwi's on your land, that is also easy to do. Lay them in the fridge, for a week, than scoop them out, like an egg, en put the seeds in a cup of water. After a day, the fruit rest ar away, and you have only seeds. Put them in a nice pot with dirt, just on top of the dirt, and keep the dirt a little wet. After a few day's you have the start of a lot of new groing mini plants. Works with green, and Yellow kiwi's.
@TheIndigoEscape4 ай бұрын
Wow!! I didn’t know you could just do it like that! I will definitely try! I actually shave some friends growing kiwi so I can take one from their tree! Thanks for the tip!
@MrKnorretje014 ай бұрын
@@TheIndigoEscape yes, you can take a kiwi from your choice, and put this kiwi in the fridge, for a week, because a lot of fruit, need a "winter period" for the wil grow. After planting, its takes a week or two, (or three..) and the grow begins. 👍
@MrKnorretje014 ай бұрын
The most of fruit plants, gives the first fruit, after 3 years... And if you want to grow your one palm tree(s), that is also easy to do. By dadel seeds, you can take the seed, and first you put the seed in a cup of water, and if the seed sinks, than is it a good seed, when the seed "drives", than its not good. Take a good seed, en put the seed, also on top of soil in a pot, and water it. The top of the dadel seed, is the side with te "split" , the botem of the dadel seed, is more round. The roots from the dadel seed, coms from the bodem part, and first the seed makes roots, and from the roots, comes the plant. The begin groing by 24° or more.

Uh! I don’t know what lactofermented veggies are but I’m going to look for it. I have a batch of beetroots that need to be harvested and I’m thinking of exactly this!
@christineb81484 ай бұрын
@@TheIndigoEscape it is the easiest and lowest input way to preserve! It is how Kosher dill pickles, sauerkraut, and kimchi are made, just add salt/brine (and flavorings if desired) and keep submerged until it ferments to your desired sourness. The larger the fermenting vessel, the slower it goes and the longer it lasts (so a quick one would be a pint jar, but a gallon or larger will last longer). I personally like Kristen and Christopher Shockey's book Fermented Vegetables, or any of their recipes for this technique.

Lovely video ❤ You both look so happy to be together again. Omar's brickwork looks great! I'm excited to see the making of the concrete top. I have similar brown drip tubing in my garden and it has worked very well for years. It's easy to modify the layout to get more or less water wherever I need it. I usually have a few repairs in the spring, because the connectors get brittle in the sun and can break if I disturb them too much. Putting mulch over the drip system helps the connectors last much longer! (The tube itself lasts for many years and only has a problem if the emitters get clogged by minerals from hard water).
@maura4234 ай бұрын
Oh and I am definitely getting a long extension cord and heat gun for the stubborn connectors next spring! I have spent many hours hurting my hands or messing with a lighter to push them together 😂 Thank you for the example!

Be careful when using wood chips in the vegetable garden. It is better to use them on paths and around trees (fruiting/otherwise). Vegetables enjoy a more bacterial environment for growth. This is created by clean old animal manures, and good compost. Which can then be covered with ramial woodchip material. If you use only woodchip to mulch nitrogen will be stolen from the soil and therefore your veges, to break down the woodchips. It is the same in making good compost; nitrogen and carbon make good compost.

That is both a very personal question and an inconsiderate choise of words. First of, it is no one elses business if or when other people choose to have kids, and such a question might cause distress if the people asked are struggling with having children. Second, having children does not a family make - a married couple is already a family, as are all sorts of combinations of people living together 😊
