I brought up the idea that it would be so much more convenient if humans were monotremes, and laid eggs like a platypus, instead of having to go through the agony of the birthing process. (My would-be GF agreed, having had two kids).

I'm a man, and hearing about the physical endurance and their immunity to be a 'force to be reckoned with' , make me feel so proud about women body. Sure, the hardships are there, but I have seen women who are not at all proud of being a woman. Being both genders are taxing in their own way. Men's and Women's bodies are on such subjects. What they all forget is that they all play different roles and have different powers to do different things. Even though men are built to bash and conquer, there are these superpowers that our women have which we all forget at times. I will always be proud of it. A lot of these have roots in how women are socialized; for example, we cry more in no small part because it's much more socially acceptable for us than for men. It's also thought that we're better at differentiating between colors and scents because women were traditionally gatherers (hard to be a hunter if you're pregnant), and subtle differences in color and smell of plants could be the difference between food and poison.

this is very untrue. Women don't cry more because we are socialized to, testosterone literally impedes men's empathy and ability to cry. Its biology NOT socialization. this is why women tend to cry more during pregnancy and ovulation because hormones are in overdrive during those periods.

As a man, I appreciate the standing up for us from you. Genuinely, thank you. In today’s society it’s becoming more and more acceptable to put men down, devalue, and de-masculate men. We, men and women, need each other and we each serve a purpose. It’s going to take courageous women such as yourselves to make the change in society to find the balance between the sexes, because when men speak out we are silenced, so again, thank you.

I mean, if I had to correct up to 3 of their mistakes with facts I would do it but when almost everything is wrong I need to spend more time from what I'm willing to spend. Anyway, I gave you the warning, you can look it up yourself. And remember that studies are not facts because for each study you can find a lot of others that disprove it. So something to be considered fact it needs hundreds of studies most of the time. That's not my words but the words of a very big doctor I know.

Women live longer due to their easier life, their aversion to risk or step changes. They connect and cooperate much better. They care for themselves more, visit doctors more, take medication, have regular checkups etc. Women don't exert themselves, sleep more, rest more, don't spend massive energy, work as hard and don't do crazy things as men do.... It's wonderful that we have women on earth not only boring men! The life expectancy gap is closing in recent years pointing out it's not a genetic or inherent but lifestyle related

Males remember less but have no biological excuse, well duh, males are raised to believe that 'it cannot possibly be expected' to remember or be interested in things that are not about themselves. What this implies about how mothers (and fathers) raise their sons is important to consider because I think we do them a disservice. Somehow we do not expect male children to care about the people and the world arount them, discouraging them from thinking ahead and leaving skills underdevelopped. Im sure most men are perfectly able to remember things but more often than not they are actively shamed for being too considerate. I'm reminded to the lazy men mind every day: a while back my bf proclaimed it was 'impossible' for him to remember that someone we both know equally well had had a child some years ago and when he gets home from grocery shopping its pretty normal for him to have 'forgotten' some things that I put on the list even if he remembers to bring the list to the store with him. To him, it is very normal that he cannot do these things, and it would be 'way too hard' to work on them. He even has troubele making agrocery list himself, because he claims its too hard to think of stuff (e.g. it does not happen automatically). And it's not just a local thing: While we are from western europe I also know a guy from Arica who discribed the exact same shortcommings in himself, telling me he could not even figure out what food to take home for his own child, subsequently leaving grocery shopping to his wife, since she 'was made to do that'. Maybe it has to do with abrahamic culture, but that does not matter, raise your sons to be caring and considerate. Do not let them opt out of developing life skills like that.

@@alllovelain I think you just feel personally attacked. Be sure that I am not shaming any child or individual for that matter for learning something or not. Im shaming parents for setting back their sons. Besides, I think it is fair to criticize adult men and keep them to the same standards as anyone else. Finally, i need to endure and make up for the failings of the men around me, which is a lot of work and brings a lot of stress, but according to your reasoning thats just something not to talk about since it instantly becomes misogyny in your mind simply because it is about a man.

It's okay, it's more so that you have the baseline immunity without a special boost, not that your immune system is weaker than other women! Being single also means lower risk of STDs and such, and even infections like UTIs and yeast infections, so there's nothing wrong with that :)
