You need to seek medical treatment and advice for your little guy before flying home. I have a terminal lung condition and am not permitted to fly anymore because what the average person doesn’t feel/realise is that the cabin pressure has an impact on your lungs. The last time I flew my condition had been stable for months and despite taking preventative meds in the hours leading up to the flight within half an hour of taking off my breathing became so bad the pilot under the advice of an off duty doctor that was on board diverted the plane to a nearby major town to get me to medical treatment. I spent several days in ICU and another week or so in hospital before making a long road trip home. Children with lung issues crash more suddenly and with less warning than adults so PLEASE for your som’s same take him to get him checked over and ask what treatment they’d recommend for the flight home to prevent him having a medical crisis mid flight.

Out in cold air wrapped in a blanket , if Jace is still not well when you get home get a bowl of water with a teaspoon of vicks vapour rub in the water and place underneath a warm radiator and also in his bedroom too. You can also hang damp washing on the radiators and clothes horses too and they will keep moisture in the air and all this will help Jace with his chest. Good luck hope he gets well soon xxx Enjoy the rest of your holiday x

Coming from a mom who's child constantly struggled with croup and stopped breathing more times than I can count, Jace sounds horrid!! Please get him in the bathroom with the hot shower going for the steam. If he doesnt get better within 36 hours, he really needs a nebulizer treatment and steroids. I've never been one to comment on anyone's child or parenting but his sounds are bad!! Croup is a sunset to sunrise virus so they do seem fine during the day. Croup is also contagious FYI.

This sounds like whooping cough. Not croup. I had croup many times when I was little and it did not sound like this. There has been a huge issue with adults carrying whooping cough and passing it to little kids these days.
@MissouriCrookedBarnHomestead5 жыл бұрын
@@sunnyd2394 Look at CDC reports, reports on news, KZbin, etc. Yes, we do have whooping cough still.
@@sunnyd2394 It is not so very rare. There have been many cases throughout the US and it's getting more prevalent because of the parents that are choosing not to vaccinate their children as well as a growing immunity to the vaccine. I've had the croup, remember the croup well, the sound that Jace is making does not sound like croup. My children are in their 20's and have been fully vaccinated including Gardasil and chicken pox vaccinations. Also boosters when they went to college. I've had boosters as well. Jace has not had all the required immunizations by this point.
@Meshellwisconsin5 жыл бұрын
It's definitely croup
@MissouriCrookedBarnHomestead5 жыл бұрын
@@sunnyd2394 your response said that whooping cough no longer exists, it was eradicated. That implies that you were saying it is impossible. Parents should be alarmed that there is a possibility their child needs to see a doctor.

Can you explain what you mean when you talk about half terms. I'm from the US and my kids go to school from first of August-end of May. They get small breaks (like 1-2 days) throughout those months except at Thanksgiving we get a week, Christmas is 2 weeks, and we have a week long spring break in March. Our kids, where I am from in Alabama, are required to be in school 181 days.

Hi Sarah and Chris, sorry to hear that Jace has croup, My son had croup as a baby every winter until he turned about five years old. The best way to help him is to bring him into the bathroom and turn on the hot taps/shower and the steam helps the croup immensely or boil a kettle near him too, do it as soon as you hear that first barking cough at night. Also ice cold juice or water also helps the throat too I found. Hope this helps him and He is feeling better soon.
