E.x ShortFatOtaku video about cultural m-ism word. You know the one. Wikipedia used to HONESTLY explain what it means, but now it pretends it's "jUsT a ConSpiRaCy DuDe!1!1!". The video is called Antonio Gramsci and Socialist intellectual sphere. He shows how wiki censors facts for it's biased narrative. Destiny essentially dodged the question about what a woman is, and the interviewer let it slide. Perhaps asking him what a man is, and seeing if the response is just as long-winded and predictably leading up to ‘it’s complicated’ could be enlightening.
@hiz24airness9 ай бұрын
I believe his point is a chair isnt the only thing made for sitting, so providing a 100% unique and distinct definition isnt really possible nor expected. Hence we use models to attach to reality which are then communicated by words, so in reference to women... we probably share 80-90% of the model of a woman but there is no 100% and these models do change.
@u4iadreams9 ай бұрын
He didn't dodge it at all. He explained fairly perfectly the complication of language and labels used for anything. I’m always relieved when someone with a reputation for being extreme actually has a lot of normal positions on a lot of issues. There’s so much common ground we can work with.

I'm curious do you say this as someone who doesn't watch Destiny? I used to not watch him but heard from others that he was an extreme guy in one fashion or another. Until I watched him actually speak for himself.

@@randomchannelname2251 exactly. Destiny is not extreme and is very reasonable, fact based and logical. People who say he’s extreme are probably misinformed, lying or projecting. Also, he grew up in NE, the Midwest of America. That’s not a liberal part of the country whatsoever. I’d call him a progressive-centrist, if that’s a thing

Interesting seeing Destiny featured by iai. Even though I disagree on a lot he believes, anyone as prominent to the left or right of him would miss too many points and nuance in describing online politics. Anybody in the debate-community (like Ask Yourself, or Jack Angstreich) would be too niche, and so would anybody that's post-modern for that matter. He’s unironically most capable of explaining the state of online politics. And he’s definitely more intellectual than some of the “intellectuals” he has debated.
