#1. Let's say I was on a bad spot in my life and suddenly I met her. If it was me on her shoes, I'd say I was on a complicated situation and because of that I would not be able to fully dedicate myself to the relationship. I'd say to her what I could or couldn't do in regards of her and the relationship so both of us could elaborate some kind of strategy for the relationship to work. Instead of doing that, she just ghosted me. Cutting communications with the person you love can't be a good solution, unless some kind of disrespect is involved in the situation. Pile 2; everything that you mentioned is so accurate. I work in a hospital and he does too but we work in different departments so I do not get to see him often. Whenever I do; he is really interested in talking to me. My co worker mentioned to me that she thinks he has a crush on me. First of all welcome back. I've watched you for a few years now. Pile 3 was very spot on. At first I didn't think it was correct, but as you told the story you detailed it specifically. I'll tell you my story. I had been friends with a guy for about three years and two years ago we got in a bad fight, my fault, that caused no contact. During the three years of friendship he had feelings for me, I never let him out of the friend zone. After two years not speaking he showed up again with a random text last week After catching up, he asked me out. I suprised both of us by saying yes. It just felt right and natural. I said yes without thought. Anyways he acted like he just got the girl off his dreams and the one he never stopped "crushing" "loving" whatever he felt..... Three years of friendship and two years no contact. His excitement was adorable. It was amazing and I felt like everything was falling into place. We made plans to get together after four days of texting and falling into place...... he stood me up. I sent him texts nicely calling him out on it, to which he gave a lame excuse. I told him due to our past I'll give him another shot. He said any day I want is good. I sent him my work schedule....... And poof ghosted Two days ago I sent him a huge text about our prior friendship, me taking a chance, and feeling like this all finally felt right, but clearly it's not going to work out. Come back when you're ready to treat me how you know I should be treated. The confusion you read from me is very accurate not only on how can someone love me unrequited for five years then come flying back in no explanation only to slam the door and ghost, but also because if you told me a few years back I'd see him in this way, I'd laugh in your face. So that is confusing as well... In the breakup text I mentioned fresh start and new chapters for us and weirded out almost exactly as you said it. And the regret part is hopefully true for him. You mentioned the friendship growing into something new. And you mentioned climbing a mountain, he's a big hiker and loves being in the mountains. Also the "quest" was something he had posted after I sent the text to him, regarding his hike he went on. He didn't use the word quest but he related that climb to the Lord of the Rings story. The whole thing was very specific and very weird. As much as the little voice is telling me if he came back just to slam the door, he's not worth it and doesn't give a thought to me, but carrying the torch for five years for me, I'm sure he does think he made a mistake and I'm the girl as you said "he let slip through his fingers" or "the one who got away"

Pile #2 This is crazy because I came here about a month ago, a bit before Christmas looking for answers with my ex. I was really drawn to pile 2 but listening to it didn't resonate with me at the time. I had a friend this whole time who I met back in September and we have been getting closer since. I always thought there was a possibility of being more than friends but obviously I was in the wrong headspace.
