how to stop this offense? you run a 4-6 defense and have ur biggest 4 down D-linemen in the middle while u have two speed Demond LB on the outside. You have your SS up as a linebacker supporting you MLB and have ur FS roaming the deep middle. And then have ur CB play press all game and rotate them. Thats how we stopped every team that ran that offense.

we ran this D in HS against our rivals and it worked first time, but we lost 21-20, second time we played em in semi-finals and we got beat 40-0. 46 works against this Offense sometimes. But if those boys upfront aren’t big and strong enough the other team is just gonna bully you. The real answer to this Offense is just be really disciplined, no matter what form u come out in. 4-3/3-4/46/4-3-2 Just be disciplined and be strong up front.

16:17 I would personally fill the box primarily on the line. Ideally like 5+ down lineman isn't ideal but all these guys will do is options and maybe a few swing/screens So it is definitely necessary. Next maybe 2 contain backers: strong side backer being more for run support and weak side would maybe be a cover backer/bigger DB. Than on the next level 3 backers lined up in the gaps the down lineman aren't covering/filing. Also those 5 down lineman would be in a strong side shift for me, or just towards the heavier side to match up bodies. Than the remaining 2 positions would probably be DBs: One being a roam safety so they would be 10 yards back and just roam to any open space that isn't vacated 12 yards of the LOS. Than lastly a DB of any sorts to support a possible receiving threat or coverage duties. You'd probably have to run zone blitz' too cause the quickness they hand it off with is deceiving. If i had a week to plan I would probably also incorporate a few pre defense shifts to throw off the offense. So maybe initially showing a 7 man front and than the backers shift out back to the second level to drop into zone or get a good start at the run gap.

A simple way to combat it is to have gap protection on defense. How my school did it was people stayed on someone until they had to move and they never over-pursued. Also I saw 24 for this team kept falling into the trap. He kept running into the backfield without setting a proper edge.

The triple option is easy to stop with good linebacker play, when your linebackers are taught to bull rush to in at the original ball carrier it creates lanes everywhere when you teach your backers to have the lead backer (player on whatever side they are running to) rush and disrupt the play while the other stay home and make reads this offense and all others can be stopped effectively.

@@nnnhjjj749 either way modern safety’s can play down at the olb spot with little change in effectiveness now in the case of a HS team yeah I guess but the best way to stop this offense is to have the strong side lb attack the play have the corners contain the outside and have the remaining lb’s press the ball carrier. What you’re describing leads to obvious holes in the secondary having your 3rd level press up like that leads to a one move score like we saw in the video. When the backers stayed home and read the play outcomes are usually acceptable.
