fun fact: when townspeople say stuff like "did you know X hates/loves item Y? " that info gets added to character X's info, making it easyer to see what they do or dont like. Also a tip, you often walk past harvestable stuff, for example, the shells on the beach and the flowers in the forest. Getting those and selling them is a MAJOR boost to your early income

HEY CALVIN! it's time for stardew tips! i will try my very best not to make them as long-winded as my genshin ones were back in the day, but... no promises. i think you're already used to how much i yap anyways, so maybe it won't be so bad either way 😂 + *Refilling the Watering Can:* you can refill the watering can at any body of water that you can fish out of! the little pond on your property, the town river, the ocean, even some... less expected places. on that note, try casting your line anywhere that peaks your interest, too! + *Fishing Tips from a Guy Who Hates Early Game Fishing:* it's definitely a good idea to buy the beginner's rod from Willy. it's pretty cheap, and while it will only give you the more basic fish, it makes the fish move slower in the bar, so you have an easier time catching up with them using the fish bar. generally, the move is to hold the button when you need to go up the bar, let go _just_ before you reach the fish (as it'll keep coasting upwards), then _taptaptaptaptap_ to try to keep it steady with the fish, making longer taps or letting go for longer as needed (as the fish goes up and down the bar). as you gain XP in fishing, fish will become easier for you to catch, and eventually you might feel confident enough in your skills to eschew the training rod and move your way up! don't feel bad about being bad at it, it really is a pretty big difficulty curve for brand new players, but you'll definitely get there. 😄 + *Inventory Management:* you shouldn't need to throw things away! as twixstixx mentioned, you can turn on an option in the settings menu that should allow you to click outside the inventory box to drop things on the ground, rather than toss things that might be valuable to you, whether that value comes from selling it or the energy you'd gain from it. this'll all be a lot more bearable with that backpack upgrade! + *Harvestables:* i noticed that you've been passing by a lot of flowers on your daily walks. it's probably just that it hasn't occurred to you, but the ones that stand out by being big, one-block-by-one-block sized things are usually items that you can pick up, just like with the wild horseradish, leek, and other things you found up near Robin's house! keep an eye out for them and pick them up if you have inventory space. harvestables of all sorts are available year round on every screen, and change with the seasons. they sell decently, or work great as a pick-me-up for energy while farming or mining! + *Don't Be Afraid to Make Mistakes:* i know this probably speaks for itself, but you know your audience, and we mainstays on your channel are here for you and your experience, not for a perfect walkthrough. so it's okay to forget a birthday, or give a 'wrong' gift, or pass out at 2am inches from your bed. you _will_ make mistakes, and that's alright. it's honestly part of the process of playing this game at all! you'll eventually get to a point where you're like a well-oiled machine, knowing the opening and closing times of every shop, keeping ten gifts on you for every person you plan to run into that day, and sliding into bed at 1:50am on the _dot!_ but in the meantime, enjoy the journey it takes to get to that point ❤you only play a game for the first time once, after all, and even the errors are a part of the fun. oh, and as far as gifts go, flowers and gems are _generally_ a pretty safe bet for anybody, but keep in mind that everyone has their own individual preferences, and some might be an exception to this rule! if you don't want to use the wiki (and you're valid not to!), then you'll have an awful lot of trial and error ahead of you... here's to more good gifts than bad in the future! 😆

1:00:10 You don’t have to throw stuff away when your inventory is full. If you have an item that doesn’t fit, if you move it to the left side instead of to the trashcan, you can simply drop the item on the ground.

Every item that says 'Gunther will tell you more...blah blah' can be donated to the museum. The ONLY exception is if you find an egg of some kind. An ambitious farmer who has an upgraded chicken coop can find a way to make that one egg into more eggs :D

Just found your channel and really loving the content so far! you are doing amazing so far, you don't have be so hard on yourself, its a complicated game and as long as you are having fun there is no wrong way to play it! a tip that was really helpful for me when I was starting out in stardew was to embrace your inner hoarder and save one or two of everything! but honestly just have fun and don't be scared of doing it wrong, everyone plays differently and you will learn as you progress. In the game grandpa gave you the farm to escape the burdens of modern life, you wont be punished for not maximizing every second of every day.

Some tips regarding settings that will make your life easier: - Turn on "Always show tool hit location". This makes it so a red square shows up when you use tools so it's easier to hit where you like. - Turn off "Use controller-style menus". This makes it so you can navigate your menu freely with the left stick instead of being locked into the slots. It's much more intuitive IMO, and it makes it so you can drop items on the ground if your inventory fills up instead of having to trash something every time.

oh fishing...it's a pain, hahaha! if it helps, Willy sells a training rod for 25g in his shop that makes things a bit easier! more tips! Shane likes beer and pizza (which you can get from the saloon), and Sebastian likes quartz! (which you can find anywhere in the mines) On the TV, the fortune teller tells you your daily luck! this determines how quickly you find ladders in the mines! Finally, the little bucket you keep trying to refill your water in is actually your cat's pet bowl! That's all! Have fun! (i chose the black cat too lol)

Heya, I'm so happy to watch this playthrough of the game on you channel! I know it's much already but here are a few more tips 😊 A faster way from the mines to your house is going all the way left and then down instead of down through the village. Handy when its late 😁 Also, you can sell items through the wooden box next to your house. You don't have to sell them in the market 😊 If you open the map and hover over the houses you can see who lives in it 😁

More non spoilery tips: Dont worry about gifting for the first year if your playing 100% blind, eventually just talking to them daily, and doing their requests will get you friendship points! Also, have some chests in the mines, they'll help with organizing later on down the road. Try to gather as many forage as you can, that way you can sell them off season during the winter. (Its saved me from going totally broke) Youll want to keep at least five of everything of every rarity (normal, gold, silver. I wont say the last one as thst is connected to a spoiler for late game) Dont go through the garbage cans when folks are outside, itll lower your friendship points with them. The best times to do them is within the first hour you wake up, or between 10-12am when folks are asleep, or just not outside. Youll want to keep fishing as a way to bring in income. Piling up enough fish can make bank c':! Hope these help, i may not be as active commenting bc i have AuDHD and no filters, i hope to god none of this is too spoilery, but youll start seeing the different qualities by the end of Spring uwu~

The bean starter pack takes a bit to grow to maturity, but once they produce they will continue to produce. It's one of the first things I put in the ground to get it started in the spring. You wont have to worry about buying more seeds for it after you plant it. Hops in the summer and grapes in the fall are the same deal.

Calvin!! ik you like to do things a certain way when you play- and i just wanted to mention! stardew valley is definitely one of those games where it is INCREADIBLY hard if not downright impossible to make note of where to find very specific things you need without looking it up. so if you have any specific questions like "when can i get this specific crop? when do specific fish show up? where do i find a specific item?" dont be afraid to either ask patrons or straight up search it up on the wiki, the Stardew valley wiki is essentially a bible for most players! lol
@phantomjaden
@phantomjaden 2 күн бұрын
If he wants to ask people that's fine, but I'd HIGHLY advise against looking at the wiki because you can easily spoil yourself on things you didn't mean to look up. Personally I can't think of anything that's all that difficult to find if you're not in a rush. You can figure out most things on your own with enough time.
@phantomjaden
@phantomjaden 2 күн бұрын
I wouldn't worry too much about giving gifts early on. You'll have all the time in the world to make friends and it'll be easier to get things people like as you make more progress. Food is usually a good bet if you have no clue at all what to give someone. I think most cooked foods are neutral or liked gifts for most people.

For fishing, hold until you are almost over the fish, then start tapping as necessary. Usually, you need a mix of long taps and short ones. I needed a bit until it clicked, but then it really way just a cash cow ps. there is only one person in the whole town who likes Joja Cola lol... good luck figuring it out ps there should be a lake on your own farm, no need to go to town every time

I've never played Stardew on controller or console, I've always played it on either mouse and keyboard on the PC, or on the phone. Seeing Roamer's playthrough, it looks like console version has some trouble giving new players certain visual cues that the PC version gives. With the PC, your mouse cursor is always on screen, giving you info text when hovering over stuff, and giving you visual cues when it happens to be over something that players can interact with. With phone, you're tapping on everything anyways since that's how phone game controls are. With console or controller, it looks like the controls are less intuitive to a fresh beginner, and there's no way to hint to the player which things can be interacted with, unless the player goes out of their way to try to interact with everything they see. So yeah, quite a bit of your troubles finding items to gift to ppl, is just that there's a lot of the game, even this beginning part, that you haven't explored yet. And quite a bit of that is affected by the console version's limitations with cuing the player in to a lot of the interactable stuff. That and also the limited inventory space discouraging you from holding a bunch of random stuff at any time to try to gift to ppl lol So a tip to perhaps make your gift-giving easier: poke around and see what you can pick up off of the ground. You can find quite a lot of generally liked gifts, and also food that way. Also: walk around more to new places to see more of the ground lololol About the elevator in the mines: you can use it to skip down deeper into the mines, you don't need to start at floor 0 every time. You unlock more skippable floors as you go. Currently you've unlocked the ability to elevator down to floor 5 As for the fishing...its concept is rather like that of flappy bird. And by the way, you've never tried out Genshin's fishing system, have you? Genshin's is like a much easier version of Stardew's fishing to me lol. I played Stardew before Genshin, and when I saw Genshin's fishing, I was just like: You dare stand before me?? A fishing master trained from the trenches of Stardew Valley???? XDDD
