I can't tell you how many times I've come back to you're videos. Thank you sir, how far you have learned me and given me confidence to TRY. Thank you!!!!!!!!

You are the one of the best examples of the true man that believe in giving back to the next generation of youth. And not trying to take it to your grave and let the art be lost. Only the older men that had mastered thar art showed us that kind of love. You are the perfect example of a dieing breed. And God will truly bless you. And if thair were more of you this world would be a different place. Thank you sir.

Got my new Stihl cylinder and piston in for my ms 460. I am ver pleased with it. The transfers look beautiful, a nice slope. The intake and exhaust may need a very little bit of work. I am waiting until I get my degree wheel befor I do anything to them. I am surprised how good the ports were chamfered. A lot of difference between this cylinder and the Farmertec I have used in the past even the edges of the piston were broken. I probably will not touch it because it weighed 77 grams. I will bet the timing will also be beautiful.

These videos are just great it’s like being in college class again but in the comfort of my living room infront of the woodstove lol. And something that is far more interesting!! So talking about blowdown/exhaust roof height how does a longer lets say 38mm stroke engine react to a high exhaust roof vs a shorter 34mm stroke engine? I would think the Longer stroke motor could tolerate the tall roof to make up for the low end grunt loss?

Talking about the Reeds saw It would be nice if you can make a 70s air cooled yz 80 cyclinder and head with the reeds and carb already on it fit on that bottom end been trying to do some research on stroke ,bolt pattern,wrist pin sizeing and stuff but all my old bike parts have been long gone 😁👍need some reinforcement from someone with some old cyclinders they can donate so you can do some sifering

Ironhorse, I keep talking about finding a 394, but I keep hearing you talk about Reed valve saws and I have a McCulloch super 250 which I believe might be the last of the Reed valve style saw, someone correct me if I am wrong please. I haven't had time to go through and and try to revive it yet. Would it be something you would be interested in working on once I get moved and unpack my saws? Either way super enjoy you channel and this series.

After running that 390 I just built I would look for one if I was you! Gobs of power and much lighter than 394!

i don't understand the intake numbers that you share, you got a 76 closing and 104 opening, and you want to do a opening at 70degrees ? so you come from 104 to 70 as i understand ? its like more than 1/4 inch as i measured.. when you turn it at 70 you have a gap also, so im not sure if its an error or not..can you help me with that please, i think i dont want to grind before being certain about it ahah 😅 myfirst porting also

I didn’t quite understand the muffler guideline. 5/8 of the the of exhaust port becomes what? Diameter of the muffler hole?

Exactly!
@phogelbice5 жыл бұрын
@@theironhorse6600 width or area? if the port is 1" you make the muffler exit 5/8"?
