I don't usually care too much for Craig Ferguson interviews, but these with James Spader are great. He really knows when to let Spader keep talking and when to get in a quip or direct the interview. Some the more recent interviews with Fallon and Colbert are awkward in a bad way. Both, but Fallon especially, try to control the conversation and seem to feel they need to have a 50/50 back and forth. Maybe it's the time constraints, but get Spader going on one topic and you're set.

I was born in LA, lived there most of my life. There is an entire city of millions of people who have nothing at all to do with Hollywood, the entertainment industry, nothing. Hollywood people are there for that and think that's all there is, but most people do nothing but see a movie every few years--and many don't even do that. It's a great city. I'd move back tomorrow if I had the money.
