I wanted to be mad at it, because other ethnicities always take everything that's black! But it was so tight, I couldn't be mad at it. The musicianship is great. Honestly, the only flaw is the female background vocals. Everything else is stellar.

Although I'm a little late (like 5 years) I must admit that this rendition of "Can't Hide Love" is the best ever that I've heard since the original version of 1975. As I was searching for some old EWF tunes I found this and can't stop playing it.

This is a pretty good cover. I really liked it and this is a lot coming from an Earth Wind & Fire fan since 1975 when I fell in love to the music of (and with the band of course) "That's The Way of the World" on their LP of the same name. I rarely miss a concert over the years. I will say that I love your vocal style. It is rich and full and you have a great stage presence. That said there are two things that need improvement. First, you really have to know your lyrics. It matters to your audience. Maybe you were a bit nervous and that's okay. Believe me, I lost an entire harmony once, words and all, in front of about 2,000 people. It was crushing, at the time. Hell, I was in my 20's and everything hurts as an artist at that age! It happens to every singer now and then. But I have a feeling that you can just glide right over it. The second thing is your backup singers have to learn to be smooth, stay off the trills unless they have a solo. They need to keep their notes clean and back off the mic a bit because they are louder than you, the lead. And that can never work. A backup vocalist must try to mellow out her/his voice to blend with the others and never go sharp (or flat for that matter). I love that they were in the groove and enthusiastic. That will take them far. However, they sounded shrill and sharp. They did not compliment you, the lead, or that kick-ass band that is backing you all up! I have nothing but praise for the band. Very tight and powerful. They really knew their stuff and had clearly practiced quite a bit. You are very charismatic so you are definitely a good lead. When you open with "You want my love and you can't deny..." It's a very seductive line. You really need to capture your audience with that very first line! The best way to solve those minor issues is that the backup singers should be to the side of the stage area (wherever works) with one monitor so they can hear if they are blending. And you should be out front (hence the word frontman) so people can feel like you know them.....like you are speaking directly to them. And of course, you will need a monitor, too. All that to say this was an awesome and delightfully fun video. Let the people know where you will be. I am in NH so I may come out to see you guys. Keep doing great things!!! Thank you for this great video. I look forward to seeing more!!!
@bleromafia
@bleromafia Жыл бұрын
The main thing I noticed as well was that they chose to sing together instead of trying to back the leading voice. I'd guess that they are a tight band and rotate between singers. However, when a song calls for backup, I agree that the role between backup and the first voice should be clearly accentuated.
