I live about 45 minutes from here, and drive through all the time, admiring all the houses that I could never dream of affording. There are some absolutely massive ones down there, well over 20,000 square feet for a lot, and some even over 30,000 square feet

I have lived in in Potomac Maryland for about a year now I just turned 21 my family mostly my parent's (primarily because they've built 4 custom luxury home's across Maryland and 1 in Maine since 2003) but also my aunt and uncle who are in the real estate industry helped me finish the custom home building process as of this year as well in 2021. I chose to not live in as big a home as some of these folks, but it's still a decently sized home at 6,800 Sq. Ft. it's a Georgian Colonial on 12 acres of mostly forest what that means is that you can't see it from any road you kind of just have to know where it is via the iron gates along route 189, I've even drove right by myself it and gotten lost thank god for the navigation on my Chevy Traverse, construction started in summer of 2018 when I was 18 and 7 month's old, I used to live up in Maine with my parent's. just for the record I can afford to live here because I now make $25,825 a month off of long-term investment's I also currently make $380,760 yearly off of passive income, my parent's allowed/helped me open up an investment account at 16 years old.

Look at those houses with all that sq footage and no real masonry. No chimney's. Its all pressed board with a veneer to faux brick or stone. Americans love Hollywood glitz and are impressed by big and amenities, not by quality of design or construction.
