Just another comment to clarify the Gemini AI chatbot thing--if you read the transcript of the chatlog, right before the "troubling response" the AI received a Listen prompt from the user. Listen prompts are not recorded. No other question has a listen prompt within it. The user very clearly instructed the AI to say what it did. AI, despite all of the lapdogs for big companies trying to say otherwise, is really not very advanced. Regardless of all the safeguards companies put in place, its still very easy to circumvent those guidelines and essentially "jailbreak" the AI to get it to do what you want. More than anything, its troubling how little work reporters put in to even look through the chat logs to notice this discrepancy. Same thing from the other video of Chat GPT suddenly copying the person's voice--its so easy to stage AI videos, you only need to show just enough, or just not show a backend command, and viola, a creepy AI video to scare all of the Shane Dawsons of the world.
@ruth98765Ай бұрын

The remote controlled robot thing isn't super far off--they had people operating them at the big unveiling event. Its hard to believe that in the few months (if that?) between them being fully puppetted by remote workers to her having the robot now...there is no way its functioning at a high level autonomously. I would fully believe that there is someone puppeteering it for the set recorded videos. Either like a PA who got a manual, or they have a contract with Tesla or whatever to have the robot be functional for videos being filmed in batches/at specific times.

Robot surgery has existed for decades, why not haircuts? It's just engineering and software, and we're actually pretty good at that. AI is new tech, and its very nature means it will quickly outpace "natural" intelligence, which is scary, but any tendency to violence would need to be from humans. True AI is very different from a robot or a large language model, and much scarier. I recommend this book a lot and I'll do it again here lol, "The Singularity is Near" by Ray Kurzweil

"what if there's an animal more intelligent than us" You mean orcas? I mean, they're probably not more intelligent than us, they're still in the early stages of building a civilization, which is why they are cruel for fun from time to time... But different dialects/languages, cultures, their mothers are matchmakers, they go through menopause as well. Yes, they stay alive for reasons that aren't reproduction, but rather raising and educating their offspring as matriarchs. They date btw and male orcas need to practice doing the deed with their male friends before they go and the matriarch will get them a date that she ensures is not a cousin or anything. They care about the family tree. Aaaand they are poly, good for them. Overall, very fun, I recommend looking into them.
@CostumedFiend_AudioАй бұрын
Octopuses are also very cool and very intelligent. Although arguably all animals are smarter than us because they didn't invent money and many of them sleep or move to warmer weather during the winter.

@CostumedFiend_Audio SORRY FOR POURING OUT MY FRUSTRATION HERE, BEAR WITH ME but you don't have to, that's fine with me, no hard feelings I mean, that's funny but you could say "yeah, but they do sa and they can be cannibals and this and that" Plus animals tend to fight for territory, kill for fun, torture for fun. I know, it's a joke, I just REALLY need to pour out my frustration somewhere because I saw people honestly talk about how animals are better than us. But then they learn one or two facts they don't like about a certain animal and it's suddenly "Ew, well, I like the other one" until they learn something again. Like, people used to love dolphins, then we've learned that somehow dolphins don't abide by our moral standards (who would've guessed?) and suddenly dolphins aren't fun and cool anymore. Like, do they love animals or do they just love to have something to look up to because humans disappoint them? Because like, orcas kill baby seals for fun and do shitty stuff to them. A lot. Cats hunt for pure fun. Dogs will get interested in anything that seems to be alive? Or not even. They don't have our morals and I'd say, in terms of morality, we're impressive as fuck. Because our minds and bodies didn't even get to evolve enough to eliminate stuff like liking kids and we still can't fully control our emotions, we are so not evolved to the society that we live in. Yet we developed the moral code already, we care about psychology, we made an entire justice system that is injust because we didn't have time to evolve to fulfill the expectations we put on ourselves. It's impressive. I like to think about that when I feel disappointed.

Hot Take: this type of conspiracy theory videos Shane (and many others) make is genuinely harmful. Its the first step to then having people who genuinely believe in demons and then the "demon" in question is just a person with a rare disability or specific facial features. Spreading this type of theories uncritically like they do is when then leads to flat earthers, covid deniers, and so on. I'm not saying every single viewer who watches them will start wearing tinfoil hats, or that videos like that can't be had in good fun (though to be responsible one would have to put on at MINIMUM a disclaimer that it's a light hearted video and to consider things with critical thinking), but I think it is a genuine risk.
