A fascinating interview. I have a vivid memory of seeing The Green Table when Joffrey's company had a summer residency in Boise, Idaho in the late 1960's. This was during the time that the late Max Zamosa appeared as "Death" and I think that no one else has come close to his really spellbinding...and frightening...portrayal.

When I saw ballet this in NYC many years ago it made an indelible impression. Has always stayed with me as one of my favorite ballets and wish all people could see the circle and futility of war!!!

Kurt Joose will always have my admiration as a choreographer and humanist. When the Nazis gave orders to remove all Jews from cultural companies, he immediately took his whole company to Holland and then to England.
