Losing a friend is just as difficult as losing someone you are related to. Friends are the family we get to choose for ourselves. Sending hugs to Jamal's family, Ed Sheeran and the rest of his friends 🌟

Seeing Ed fight to try not to break into tears is highly relatable, especially when talking about a friend that died. Last year I lost a friend, my sibling is having a medical crisis (life threatening and still not sorted) and my mental health plummeted. I'm 19 now, my sibling is 11, I was 18 when my friend died (we had a 3 day age difference). Life sucks.

@@Unknown-ov2kz 2 of my friends (1 of which I lived with) died in a car accident when I was 21. I got PTSD from it and I suffered from dissociation, it was like being stuck in a constant dream state and it went on for months. All I can say to you is time is a healer a very slow one but you have to learn to force out negative thoughts and focus on the good in your life. Counselling helps a lot too if you accept the help and work at it! Sorry to hear about your sibling I hope they make a swift recovery

So good that Ed Sheeran talking about talking to professional about being sad and normalize the practice. In USA, it’s quite normal. Going through divorce and raising teenagers, going to talk to someone about the sadness and the frustration are so ordinary here… Ed is so graceful of sharing his experiences. Kudos!!! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼❤❤❤

Great interview and so helpful for so many to hear Ed speak about therapy and how it's helped him. I love him and others who use their platform in such a good and helpful way. So sorry he experienced such a hard time. I just ended therapy for now anyway and it's helped me too. There's no shame in getting help like you would if you had a physical injury or illness and had to see a doctor. I really respect him coming forward including others who do so.

I’ve been trying to get myself to go to therapy for about 18 years and I’m just so ashamed. How can you tell someone else your deepest thoughts that you’ve been feeling for so many years. I’ve been on antidepressants, and while they help, they don’t fix the problem. All these years later I feel stuck in my life, incapable and worthless. I have no idea where to go from here. Hearing Ed talk about therapy brought tears to my eyes. I’m nearing my breaking point. Will this finally get me to go?

Some people take solace from the fact that they aren't alone in what they are going through. For others depression is your own personal hell, and no amount of "it's not just you, look at all these other people" will help - I can understand that - I find it almost impossible to explain depression to people, all the things you feel, it's very inward facing it's like you are fully and completely focussed on it (but without any of the "positives" of being focussed - like increased mental clarity, more drive, passion - it's a weird focus but with an absence of those things) when you are *there* all you want is for it to stop and to feel some sense of "normal" - evey day you wake up hoping today will be better, you'll feel something that signals an up tick, a move towards the surface - but it never comes, the next day is the same. When it's like that - knowing other people are going through it too doesn't help, I know that sounds selfish/without empathy - but that's not, I think what you're saying, you're saying .... Nothing makes you feel better. I get that. I hope you find something, anything that makes you feel better soon - because it's shit being under the weight of it all the time. I feel for you.

The problem is ed, When you aren't ed sheeran trying to seek help isn't as easy as someone assumes, I believe I have autism and for 29 years it's been passed off as depression and anxiety, when I know there's something wrong deep inside, just forget you or your routes which is what the big times always tell you to do, you're music is inspirational never forget that regardless of the others you maybe given
@motion.resolved
@motion.resolved 9 ай бұрын
I have friends that are trying to get their son (4) assessed for autism and it will take 2-3 years before they can get fully assessed and diagnosed (or not). This then feeds into whether their son can get additional help... Fortunately the teacher understands and is being proactive in helping but that timescale is way too long. I hope you're able to get any appropriate help you need.

hmmm I tend to agree with the 'Ginge'.We need therapists, or more of them in the UK. It used to be that after a few beers in the local, you would open up to your mates, they would call you a puffta and not to be a wuss, and that we have all been there and done /gone through that, and as the beers went down, more similar stories came out. Pubs and a few beers after work are almost history, sadly

Im sorry ed your great your music is great and i actually think your an ace guy buy if you think that the average person who probably sees more deaths at a young age than you can afford to see a therapist your wrong. My wife could teĺl me to see someone but that in all honesty is a luxury for the rich. The working class that you may once have been a member don't have that option.
