I met Andy at the Olympic Village in 2008. Before that like many back then thought he was abit of an arse. But I was playing the basketball game you get in Arcades and he was playing besides me. I introduced myself and he said ‘I’m Andy Nice to meet you’ and I said I know who you are. And he just laughed and said ‘well I know but I’ve still got to introduce myself’. We talked whilst playing and his coach kept begging him to stop playing basketball because he had training. And being the competitive athlete he is, he said to his coach he wasn’t leaving the arcade until get got the top score😂

Gutted he never won the Australian open, his form there was immense, just couldn't get a break with the draw.
@16ozClawHammer5 ай бұрын
What on earth are you talking about?! 'The draw'?? Any tennis tournament pits the top seeds on opposing sides of the draw. Theoretically, the best two players from either side of the draw meet in the final. Andy Murray got to five Australian open finals. This demonstrates that the draw had nothing to do with it. You don't 'draw' your co-finalist. Sadly, he lost all five finals but that was absolutely nothing to do with catching a 'break' or getting a bad draw.

11 years ago ! He was a baby at the time now he has 3 children I think. He will find his way back to the sport in some capacity I'm sure. What caused him cursing at his box all the time during his carrier is difficult to understand he is a nice guy with a sense of humor. Did he curse at Lendl as well who is not a ray of sunshine himself.

I wish Jonathan would sort his hair out. I know he's rich but when I look back to the 1980's Last Resort, he looked super slick. Also, now that Murray has retired in tears, does it mean we will have to watch him on TV ? I won't be buying anything he advertises.

Which is not the point. Two Wimbledon titles, a US Open, two Olympic gold medals, an Olympic silver medal, a Davis Cup victory, a junior US Open title and being World Number 1 is a pretty decent haul. Add to that the fact he knocked out said "big three" in major contests, then he's worthy of the status put on him. Federer, Nadal and Djokovic respect him; it's a pity you don't. Then again, you don't matter, so bounce on it.
@heather66685 ай бұрын
@@greigmartin9148 Well said. He's won more than all of the people who want to tear him down. Add to that he actually seems to be a nice person. Check out episodes of a series called Mock The Week when he's been in the audience with Kim and they've done jokes about him and he and Kim are in hysterics. He can laugh at himself which is something many can't do. I think two Olympic golds are extremely respectable on their own. Add to that the Wimbledon and US titles and other titles and he's well up there in their league.
