I find the way the OP described feeling enjoyment from seeing their faces changed from scared to relieved when he *actually* dropped them where they wanted to go such a weird vibe. Like, he is fully aware these girls are only accepting rides from him because they are desperate and alone. Then enjoys watching them be nervous he's going to hurt them because they're in a vulnerable situation, to relieved because he ACTUALLY took them where they wanted. I guess it's just super weird he even thinks of not taking them where they wanted as an option, like the guys on the pod didn't even think of the girl getting hurt or not taken where she asked, because they wouldn't do that as men and they don't have to experience that fear like women would. Maybe it's truly innocent, but I find it very weird and it gives me the vibes that he would escalate. I just don't think normal men are outside in the early morning hours picking up afraid women in the dark and mentioning how much they enjoy being in control of their situation and seeing their reactions to "actually" arriving safely. Not to mention, I see a lot more random men out alone needing rides than women, just due to the dangers. Why can't he "help" them? Something is super sus on this dude.
@Cat_Not_Kat Жыл бұрын
It’s 100% sus. Made me wonder what he would do if he couldn’t find any girls and women to give rides to. Would he create a situation or put someone in danger and then “save” them? His story sounds like the start of a serial abuser narrative.
@Suomarimba Жыл бұрын
Idk I think anyone that doesn't understand that whoever they are picking up would be nervous is incredibly naive, and when they switch from nervous to realizing you are just trying to help I think that would be gratifying, being recognized for your efforts

About the night driver: when he doesn’t get the same thrill he describes anymore, I can see this escalating to him doing something like “accidentally” locking the car doors before the girls leave just to make them panic for a few moments and then go “ OH, I’M SOOO SORRY I didn’t mean to do that” and then just get worse and worse
@mrarroyo1990 Жыл бұрын
Ya this definitely gives be budding serial killer vibes. Like when the fear isn't exciting because he knows they'll be relieve when they are safe it just keeps escalating till he kills someone.

The night driver OP needs serious help. He sounds like he will escalate. To get enjoyment from their faces go from scared to relieved is a huge red flag. When he doesn’t get enjoyment from that, it’s statistically likely he will escalate. Also, when someone does something like this, you are teaching the person (you are giving a ride to) that they can/should trust strangers and setting them up for failure. I am mindful of this when I want to help people. I model a safe route that they should look for when a stranger helps someone (green flags for a safe person). For ex: I pulled over, and interfered, when a man was harassing a teen girl at a bus stop and asked if she had a phone and waited til she called her mom. I waited til the guy was completely gone and her mom was there and left. At no point did I offer a ride or got weird because I did not want this teenager learning to think seemingly nice behavior = trustworthy. I know I’m safe, but these vulnerable people do not know me like I know me. When I help people, I do not set them up for failure if they need help when I’m not around Edited for grammar correction lol

i have never thought about it like this and this perspective is super eye opening!! you’re so right
@mrarroyo1990 Жыл бұрын
💯 agree on the night driver. They are getting a thrill from the god complex of seeing that terror then it going away when THEY allow it too. When that's not as fun it'll get worse because the relief isn't the high the fact that they had complete control was likely the high.

For the engagement story, the bf saying she needed to pay him back for what was exclusively HIS engagement was crazy! If it was his engagement, it’s his bill 💅 Maybe his mom would want the ring with her name on it. Also I cook hotdogs in probably the strangest way ever, but they’re my and my bf’s favorite. I cut them in half longways, but not all the way through, just enough so it can lay flat like an open book. I then season them with paprika and garlic and cook them on a frying pan with a little oil, flipping them until both sides are a little browned and have crispy edges. I then toast the inside of the hot dog buns in the pan for extra flavor and added bun structure. It seems sacrilegious to cut hot dogs in half like that, but once I tried this for the first time, I could never go back. They get evenly cooked all the way through, and the split down the middle is perfect for holding condiments or toppings. I usually go with ketchup, mustard, and relish.

The night driver is absolutely trawling for women. He knows that those women are vulnerable and trusting him with their lives, and he’s getting off on it. The fact that he can’t stop himself from doing this is a huge problem. He needs, NEEDS help.

It was a great ep but i definitely feel like they kinda glossed over the guy at the end getting enjoyment from watching the girls/women go from scared to relieved. Yes hes technically doing a good thing but if that feeling of enjoyment becomes his ACTUAL motivation, thats scary as heck bc it seems like it could be a slippery slope to even creepier behavior. Like one day just dropping them off and seeing the relief might not be enough for him to feel satisfied, ya know? Idk it just really creeped me out and i thought theyd comment more on that

For the boiled Vs microwave debate, My family is a boil for dinner family, like if it’s dinner they are obviously being boiled. But when we’d be picking up my granddad from the bar after a night of drinking and he’s a little hungry, and I was trying to procrastinate my bedtime, the taste of a microwaved hotdog just hit different. Like they’re good if it’s certain moments. Middle of the night, you just microwave it real quick, microwave some mozzarella cheese to put on top, it’s great. Sometime I do it now because of nostalgia and it taste amazing to me in that moment, but when I did it middle of the day, didn’t taste as good. First time getting wasted? Microwaved hotdog hit different compared to boiled hotdog. Just depends on that situation in my opinion.

I have thoughts about the hotdog circle Jerdge. We need to slow down and talk about the hotdog tortilla business. I am emotionally distraught by this. I agreed with Christian when he shared his shock, but then his worry is the sauce!?! No that is fine, the problem is using a tortilla, that is unacceptable!

I think the insomniac is doing a good think. 100% it's a bad situation but I understand what he's doing. He feels lost and the only thing that makes him feel like he's not lost is helping people that need him. He's in extreme danger and I hope to hell hes got a dash cam. I think he should follow this drive and since of fulfillment by helping to a better way. Like become a social worker or some kind of volunteer. Or even better start anl group of people that want to do this. Make it a group thing so people see that it's not about the worst things people think.
