It's so sad that the film version of this was cancelled. Julie was in her prime and would have been wonderful!

@@allenjones3130 But it might have been a huge success, too. You never know with the fickle film audiences. I'd have loved to see her and Dick Van Dyke in these roles.

Where did you get these recordings? Was the entire score recorded for the film before MGM dropped it? Or as it says we’re the songs recorded in 64 for an album she was making at the time. I remember reading as a kid that MGM paid her a million dollars not to do She Loves Me. I think Star had bombed in 68 and she and Edwards were getting bad press while making Darling Lili.

It’s a 45 record with two songs. (An A and a B side.) As far as I know only these 2 songs got recorded when the musical was still running on Broadway. Since the movie didn’t happen, they didn’t record a movie soundtrack for it, either.
