Hi Ken great "Short". Guelph Station resembles our railway station/ Alton , Hampshire but we do not have a tower. Our station serves Waterloo Station London, about 40 miles to the north and goes 8 miles to the south to Alresford . The line is a steam preservation line called "The Watercress Line" named after the watercress beds situated outside Alresford. Ken been messing about with those Instagram photo's and hope my multiple attempts don't all go through at the same time. Best Wishes, Keep Well. C.J.H.

Ken, when you wave the card at the Presto small machine, does that basically tally the trip, and then you pay when you arrive, or is it prepaid no matter what?

The card is pre-loaded, and when you tap on it initially takes off the amount that will get you to the next stop, and it will keep deducting an additional amount at every successive stop until you tap off.

@@TheKenContinuum I see, interesting. LIRR machines you generally are paying ahead of time for a preselected trip, round trip or not, peak or not, or a weekly or monthly rail pass, with Metrocard added or not. LIRR hasn't advanced as yet to these type of Go Card machines and systems. NYC did add touch Metrocard turnstiles a few years ago, instead of the old swipe variety. I haven't even used them since that's how seldom I've been on a subway the past eight years or more. Most branch LIRR stations are so small they are only open 8-1 p.m. now or so, so after that you are dealing with a machine, or the conductors.
