The Best Characters for Early Game in Mega Man X Dive Offline

When I played the online version on Steam a while ago, I managed to get Roll.exe to 4 stars pretty early on, and I remember her being crazy good. She had so much healing I really couldn't die unless I got one shot, and she carried me really far into stages above my power level.

Roll.exe doesn't unlock until after 10-6 unfortunately. I was really looking forward to getting the BN/SF units and maxing them early but I wasn't able to.

Buy Ferham, to make enough in Events to buy Halloween Zero. He debuffs and heals at the same time

I know you said "Some seasonals are also good." but I wanted to point out Gangsta Girl Eratoeir as she has been carrying me through this game and has a lot of the good features you mentioned. (Healing and a shield through specials, and a screen clear just to name a few)

She also has potent buffs and debuffs to further bolster her offense and defense.

Shes one of the strongest in the game period. There are cards that can give you enhanced damage with status effects and she is the only character with each debuff innate to her kit. Used altogether, that's 48% bonus on top of her already solid offensive power. Shes nuts.

I feel Cinnamon is overall the best character for a long while. The reason? She can actually keep up while being underpowered. Whenever I don't wanna grind for power I can just spam the heal+shield and her projectiles to be basically untouchable. Her shield is also a fantastic offensive tool since you can spam the swords without fear of getting brutalized. Nightmare rolling + shield is illegal. Other characters are better at boss killing when you're at the right power but in every other situation, she is the queen. Another cool character is Awakened Zero. When you are on par or above the recommended power stage, his energy wave is one of the best, if not the best trash cleaner in the game due to the attack being just huge. An invested Omega has a weaker but more spammable air aoe move that is also pretty good at killing mobs, pretty handy for Jakob

Your first statement isn't exclusive to Cinnamon though. You can do it with most if not all of the units I mention in the video. You can see my power in the video it's 294k, and the story stages I'm still easily completing are over 100k above the recommended power with S-Class Hunter X. That's the reason for this video. Characters with various methods of sustain, damage amplification and mitigation make things so much easier.

@@TheKennyDubz X can only heal on defeating enemies. He will struggle in boss fights. I used Cinnamon to beat final Via in challenge mode. I didn't need to learn his attacks. I just do some rotation shield buff and injection and it keeps me at full health. Got 3 stars at challenge mode last stage at 118 Lvl first try. Didn't need to grind at all. I have trouble with other characters like Dive Armor X.

@@howardlam6181 He doesn't struggle in boss fights at all. Every thing you mentioned about using Cinnamon can be done more easily with both X and DiVE Armor X aside from having full HP which doesn't matter either since you just need to be above 30% when the stage ends. You don't need any healing if you defeat the boss fast enough which both S Class Hunter X and DiVE Armor X can easily do due to their inherent buffs, debuffs, damage amplification and damage mitigation.

Im considering Ferham cause of the Active Shield Skill but also since her kit is mostly CQC would a gatling be useful for range attack or should i get a different weapon for her?

I played x dive very early during the initial taiwan release. So i got to play with FAX and Black Zero. I didn't play the game at all afterward, so it's really fun to play it now with all these characters. However, I can feel a huge difference between early S ranks and ones released later. So much so that i feel like it should be a separate rarity. S X and Zero are miles ahead of a lot of the early S ranks. A lot of characters without shields and / or healing are basically not viable.

I'm glad I caught this video, I've been feeling like a chump for leaning on armors with healing and shields but it turns out those are actually just valuable skills to have in a MMX game where you don't have 4 Sub-tanks, ha

I'm surprised you didn't mention Halloween Zero. I've found Halloween Zero to be one of the strongest characters in the game, allowing you to quite literally sit inside Boss' hitboxes and spam your skills to kill them quickly while also having amazing healing. Able to clear screens with minimal effort too. The only thing Halloween Zero doesn't have is a mobility ability.

Then just don't re-roll lol. It doesn't really matter much if you're playing the Global version but don't feel like re-rolling to get something better. If you did want to re-roll though the banner with DiVE Armor X and Next DiVE Armor X is probably one to pull on.

actually ferham regen is about 2x better than s-class X give or take 10% because s-class hunter X cooldown for regen is 6 seconds while ferham regen cooldown is only 3 seconds. edit: tldr ferham regens more than s-class hunter X over time.🤔🤨🧐

Not really. You do get him early when you clear 3-6 but you can't buy memories for him until you're halfway through the story so there's not much reason to suggest using S-Class Hunter Zero over something like S-Class Hunter X, Ferham etc that you can max out much earlier since he'll be much weaker overall until you finish 10-6.

The fact Marino didn't even make this list gives me the big sadness. Not only is her double dash extremely useful for EM hunting in stages early on, she's SUPER budget being "only" A class, and her exclusive card combines with double batton for extreme sustainability. The amount of resources to invest in her vs how much she does for you early on is so slept on. I can agree, with S-Class Hunter X being the best pre 10-6, but Marino is way better for effectiveness and what she brings to the table early on than a good chunk of other characters that did make the list Q_Q

She not better than anyone else included. The only thing she has over the units I mentioned is a movement ability. You can make the argument that you'd need to invest less into her but since it only costs Zenny it's not that much of a selling point. On top of that you mention she has "extreme sustainability" with her card and Batton. That would also have to apply to everyone else I mentioned as they either inherently have shields or healing themselves which makes everyone I mentioned much better than her at actual sustain as well. It's fine if she's a favorite, by all means use her but her being a favorite definitely doesn't mean actually better than other units at preforming a task.
