1k mentioned! i will say a lot of 1k's difficulty actually does come from reading, but yes a lot of the maps are like what you would describe. however, patterns such as doublets, or patterns that include short and long lns, patterns with strange rhythms, or patterns that have a lot of bursts can be quite technical, and really far more on reading than strain. additionally, there can be *some* dexterity involved in alternating, especially in long note patterns, as you need a lot of precision to not hold one finger for too long. reading and dexterity are actually the biggest factors in like crossing from early to mid game, as the need to alternate becomes too great and figuring that out is a pretty time consuming process. if you are a drummer or have played taiko, it can be much easier to get into though. for me, ive had drumset training, did marching band for 6 years, and then got like 4 digit in taiko after already maining 4k for a couple years, so when i discovered 1k, it was kinda the perfect skillset to get into it as smoothly as possible, but for most people, theres actually quite the learning curve.

I agree. I would play 6k all day if there were more maps or 8 key if I had a fullsized keeb or thumbcluster. But 7k just has most amount of maps, so I'll push my skill and reading there till I wanna go higher in keycount.

Each key mode is mostly in its own game mode itself. Just because less keys are more "simple" does not mean they are easier. When it comes to 4k and 7k for example the only thing that transfers over well is LN timing. They have different patterns in their own type of complexity. Why people don't play 5k, 6k, 8k, etc. is because it's like I said before learning a different game mode, and might well learn 7k because it's the norm.

people played o2jam which is why theres alot of 7k. 4k was standardlized extremely early aka ddr, stepmania, ffr. 5k never picked up that much. i play alot of 6k and 4k because i find them fun and wish there was more 6k players

Selon moi le 4 keys est bien mais plus le jeu est complexe (avec plus de touches) plus le jeu est fun, donc je practice le 7 key et 6 key meme si je suis nul. Et dommage qu'il n'y a pas beaucoup de map en 6 key

but don't you use all 10 fingers in 7+1? ring, middle and forefingers are used ones per column, you alternate your thumbs to balance hands (in some rhythm games like djmax you HAVE to alternate) and pinkies for counter clockwise and clockwise movement of the disk. with this kind of complexity and number of IIDX maps i think that 7+1K is THE BEST keymode.
@AjaxWater3 ай бұрын
The reason to use all fingers is because of the way the 2DX controller is setup differently to a normal keyboard and no 7 + 1 is not the best gamemode

@sotilaspolle2 ай бұрын
@@marcaplayerhd6732 increase the height of mania-stage-bottom,png in the skin folder (can be easily done with Windows Paint, which also conveniently makes the blank space transparent) and add the judgement image however high or to left/right as you wish on the stage. The game places the bottom of the PNG automatically at the center-bottom of the mania stage, so you can use that as reference c: In essence, you cheat the skinning interface by adding a skin element which is supposed to be at the bottom to add an image at the center of the interface. I'm unsure if there's other nuances to this, so you should just test it and see how it looks with different positions.

What about 2 to 3 key

there isnt really any mapping meta for 2k and 3k yet. however, i have experimented a lot with 2k, and i can say this. for 2k lategame, the easiest technique to learn is ddkk alt (using taiko terminology) where you have your left hand's index and middle finger alternating on the left shift key, and the right hand's index and middle alternating on the right shift key. this is what i use, and its the best for ln coordination, technical patterns, and polyrhythms. its drawbacks are jack/burst speed and taiko-style singlestream maps. alternatively, a kddk approach, where you kinda turn your hands sideways, and each hand's middle finger is on shift, while the index fingers are on ctrl, can be useful for some players, especially ones versed in taiko. this is kinda hard to visualize, so i suggest you just try it out on your keyboard. you could also use enter and shift instead of shift and ctrl, as the enter key is bigger on many keyboards. this is very good for taiko-style patterns, like the aforementioned singlestreams, and if there are fast notes in a single column, or both, this can be good for that. it makes straightforward but dense jack patterns trivial, but tech and long notes becomes immensely harder. for both of these alternation styles, there is a lot of technicality and coordination involved in 2k. i would suggest you try out Sparxe's map of ENTRANS OF DA JUNGLE for a general idea. it is possible with vibro, but quite difficult. for harder maps, like a couple that ive got sitting on the backburner (ill probably make a pack at some point when i have enough) there is a much higher degree of coordination, as Sparxe's map is really just straightforward rice patterning. for LN or HB patterns, especially ones with some tech or weird rhythms, the degree of coordination involved rises exponentially. since these maps haven't been released, there isn't much of a way for kchecka to know this, so obviously it wouldn't be included in the video.
