I had a great game where in the 3 player endgame the Australian turtle botted out leaving huge doomstacks. The other player was my ally, and we focused on the bot even at the risk of weakening ourselves to each other, then moved into the 1v1. The other guy won and he deserved it, gentleman that he was.

pivoting around the bot is a legit and fun strategy. especially in a 1V1 with bot, being better at pivoting around the bot can take the game to much more strategic than calculations

Pete, quick question. New to the game and looking to practice. I have been creating and playing in lobbies with 5 expert AI. I have been able to win most of the games, but lose a hand full as well. Playing against bots is only good practice for learning how the boys function. Playing against players is completely differently. The bots are generally considered to be terrible at the game. It is still useful to know how to play around the bots because they are often around.

My problem with the neutral territories update is what will happen when a player takes let's say south America. Then leaves and feeds all their territories to the player in North am basically for free. It seems like leaving the game will give other players free wins

I definitely like the idea I heard a little while back where players that disconnect have their territories turn neutral. I don’t think it would necessarily be fair to punish a player who actually does disconnect and wants to get back into the game, but bots taking over them shouldn’t be a thing anymore. Bots should only be in the game if they’re put in the game from the start. If you disconnect, your territories go neutral, and the troops only defend incoming attacks, the neutral player’s turn is skipped until they reconnect, so they can’t get anymore cards, etc etc.

I just started playing on my phone, I've played the boardgame and after a couple weeks I have a couple complaints. If you don't pay you don't get the emojis that help you communicate with other people. Also the leaderboard seems like a little off. I just glanced for a sec and one player has 1500 wins and under 20 losses. That is impossible! Some have a 15-1 win ratio or even better. Chess has a very good ranking system. You can play players within close range of your ranking. There's obviously some cheating going on. I do enjoy the game and probably will pay the monthly fee. I heard there coming out with a new update. Some of it looks interesting but other than a few other issues the game had plenty of room to grow? One last thing. I enjoy your streams and style of play. Anyways thank you and maybe we can Play or talk sometime. Deuces!

Bots REALLY do ruin end game. Sometimes they just attack you screw you over, and sometimes they gift themselves away by splitting up their army. It's just really stupid and makes the game until after a lot of time invested in a match.

Y'all Canadians might not have the know-how, but if you need 16, 32, or even 64 ounces of liquid refreshment in a portable format just look on south to your friendly neighborhood American. We have spent enormous amounts of men and materiel on increasing the amount of beverage one person can carry with them. Rhode Island used to be known as Rhode Continent before the great coffee spill of '96. :P But seriously, well played today. Your content has inspired me to start playing Risk myself on my phone, although I generally only play bots because I like it as a casual game I can pick up and put down whenever. I’m sorry pete, but i would rather you have turned the camera off than the text box at the start of the match, at this point, it is so laggy that it is distracting from your insight/gameplay and subtracting from the stream, rather than adding to it. Someone bots out at the end of about 1/3 of my classic fixed games. I'm pretty tired of that behavior. Not sure if any penalties are warranted though since some people genuinely disconnect.

What do you think about neural networks creating programs that will be way better then humsns in risk? Neural network also have beaten the top humans is heads up and even more insane 6 max deepstack holdem.This last acheavement is insanely impressive as its so many variables. I sadly predict competitive online gaming will be over soon as this technology can be copy pasted and demicratized thru more acess to computingpower. My phone can beat any human at chess. The sad part is that i dont see how one could enforce roules propperly to stop cheating. Not a fan of negativety in any capasity but i beleve altho a grim prediction i do beleve its in tune with objective reality. I have extensive first hand experience with this topic.

Players like green are why I turn off alliances. They ask you to attack in places where it makes absolutely no sense for you to attack and just transparently want you to do their dirty work. Hey Pete! In the Netherlands there's this rule in the older versions of the game where you can only reinforce if you don't attack. You still get continent and card bonuses. How do you think this would change the way you play? Totally not asking this so I can kick my friends' asses

The old reinforcement rule was only 1 territory to an adjacent territory. That forced you to keep your army together.

When Orange took Ural you said that indicated they were good, can you elaborate on why that’s a good/important play for us noobs? Is that because once you have a continent (or even before) you need to keep some presence elsewhere on the board?

Yep thats pretty much it. Seems to happen the most to SA too. A really common move Is that Australia player will kill any remaining SA armies in Asia to force conflict between Africa and NA.
