I swear I find new performances of this classic every day and they keep getting better

In my opinion, this is one of the best live versions of this song in existence today. Running a very close 2nd, if not just as good is the 1976 version of "Summer Madness" on the Love and Understanding album.

@@Scott-G11 Absolutely, SM 1976 is without a doubt one of the greatest live performances ever

With over 80 million records sold worldwide they still haven't been inducted into the R&R Hall of Fame as of 2016. How that's even possible to not induct them is beyond me. The only reason I can come up with is the fact that throughout the decades they had many different band members that left. Before most of the key members deaths, only a handful of the original band members were still with the band. But the more I think about my comment, the less likely that opinion seems. I'm guessing they'll be posthumously inducted now any day I hope. Truly some of the best musicians on the planet.

Kool and the Gang has always had great musicianship. Back in the early and mid 70's, the original group were very accomplished Jazz musicians. And the kats in this performance are accomplished Jazz musicians. However, the Genre they made many hits off of has been R&B Pop music. But during the 70's they were doing some great Funk music. I really never did care for the Pop style music they did. But they really are great Jazz musicians. Even though they are not acknowledged that way.

No disrespect intended as always. But you made a mistake with that comment. The original introductions are correct.
