Tamara's is the luckiest girl in the fish start up hobby. Joey thanks again for explaining to the people why she gets to start out this way. All of your hard work in the Queen's Cove is really impressive and I love how you have made everything so easy for Tamara to handle. Luke did an amazing job assisting as always. I'm looking forward Joey for all the progress in the gallery in 2024. You do great stuff and it's fun learning and watching the builds. Do you still have that one lone mono fish, I have not seen him lately?

Put a copper rod on each end of the electric eel tank, can just use copper water pipe, one would be the Positive of the light strand the other the Negative . Strip the end off the light strands and put one wire to each rod by soldering it on. Boom he lights up your tree everytime he releases a charge. I just don't really know how he would light it up constantly .
@sinenomine454011 ай бұрын
obviously you need to stress the fish constantly :D
@dannyskanaal195711 ай бұрын
To harnass the electricity from the eel you need an electrode in the water which Goes the + side of a capacitor and the - side of the capacitor goes to ground and you can licht up your christmas tree.
@dannyskanaal195711 ай бұрын
Forgot to use a diode as well to prevent the current to go back in the water. Make sure to have a 12V capacitor and 12V led lichts as well.

T is lucky to have you to quick start her fish room so she can get to filming more. I do like the idea of betta island, but I personally preferred the betta rack because you could actually see each fish especially against the white background…plus I loved the way she had the scapes in each tank set up. I look forward to see what happens with them next. Merry Christmas to you all 🎄🎅🏼🧑🏼🎄

Would love to see what is next for the gallery and the rest that is coming. I have some ideas for you but I have no idea what the rules are in your area about it and which things are able with the weather changes. But i would go for 2 or 3 dug in shipping containers in your garden. Yes a ton of work to make it water proof and all more, but things like that have been done and are done before. Wishing you and your family happy holidays and looking forward to another year in the life of The King and Queen of DIY

Is it an idea to put the crabs on a shelf above the acrylic tanks, create a little overflow and have a pump inside the tank below it. Connecting it to the system. Perhaps a thin layer of sand for bacteria to colonise on. This will make maintenance a lot easier. About the frontosa. I would only seperate the 2 varieties. They are so cool. I think the wild type is a little bit more awesome.

You might be able to get a neon indicator lamp (or several) to light up when your electric eel discharges. (The small orange glowey power indicator bulbs in old stoves and whatnot, and can be found in a lot of cheap power strips with light up switches) one lead to earth ground(or you 🤣), and the other lead in his tank. They are gas discharge based, and perfect for high voltage/ super low current type tinkering. He should have enough "gusto" to give it a flash.

i sorry to be the one to break it to you. but an electric eel produces short bursts of electricity, at ranging voltages. In order to light your tree with it you would need a very expensive switching inverter to charge a large battery, then use the battery to power the lights. i could build one with a few grand and a few months of time. but not by xmas.

Nice fish room but will T have time to maintain it, with all her other activities? You both may need to hire a junior fish hobbyist to help with the tank maintenance, etc. This could be a way to train the next generation. You should teach a course at the local high school and/or community college. Students can clean your tanks for class credit.

I don't think your electric eel can power a whole Christmas Tree I've seen much bigger and they would light up a light bulb for a second or two at the most then it would go out until they built up enough power to light it again. They can't sustain a steady current that strong it's fast bursts of high power then it go's down until it shocks again Merry Christmas :)

You need some sort of converter to convert his DC electricity to AC to power the lights. Or make sure the lights are 100% LED DC lights. AC is electricity like your house fed from a transformer. DC is like lights in your car fed from a battery.

I don't think it is possible to use the eel as a power source to your tree, but maybe put the wires of the lights spaced out in the tank. It propably wot work, but if you agitate him, maybe it could flicker once or twice.😅 I dont think that much will happen tho. Anyway, merry Christmas Joey!
