My wife is from Santander where we have a condo.That is a must see town to visit with its beatiful sardinero beach specially on low tide it gives a whole mile to walk .Mid July gets very crowded because of its fiestas.Thanks for the video.

@@farioreo Santander is beautiful. Is Playa De Somo a good place to learn how to surf because the beach is so shallow but the waves are consistent?

Covadonga is very important for the Spanish history, in 722 the Christians defeated the Moors there and started the reconquest of Spain for the Christians. Los Picos de Europa is the closest mountain range to the coast of all continental Europe. It is only 28 km away from the coast line. @@TheKingsGuideForMen Check the Paradores Nacionales (National Paradors) is a net of Castles, churches, monasteries (About 104 throughout Spain) that have been converted in hotels. Many use the original furniture and my favor is San Marcos de Leon in the city of Leon.

Found your site by accident but what a joyful find !! Glad you went for the Spain less traveled and visited the Green Spain !! You definitely took some of the back road and enjoy of some of the time forgotten little towns. The town of Obeso is our family namesake town, and the Tower of Obeso is one of the oldest towers of Cantabria. The church of Obeso has some of the oldest burial sites of the region dating back to Pre-Romanic era. There is so much to see!! You had the amazing Soplao caves close by as well as the Jurassic cathedral of the Altamira caves with ice age paintings. You shall also visit Santillana Del Mar, also close by. The Camino De Santiago is something you shall consider, at least the last 100 km; you will all enjoy it. My family is from Llanes, Asturias and the oriental part of Asturias (by Llanes) has some of the best beaches of the Cantabric. The beaches are drop dead gorgeous, but the waters are a tad cold for this Asturian descendant born in the Caribbean. Enjoyed your video !! Many thanks !!
