What the smallest lettering you can do with the wood before it breaks? Like 1 inch letters? or even smaller
@TheKingstonHome Жыл бұрын
I am so sorry!! For some reason I am not getting notifications! :( Cricut recommends no thinner than the width of a pencil. I have cut letters that thin with no issue, but if you were going to cut small letters some parts of it would be thinner than that...if that makes sense? So for example you'd be able to cut smaller "block" letters than you would like "typewriter" letters.

I'm so sorry Liz for some reason I didn't get this notification! There are only a few different types of blades - the knife blade is for very thick objects and then the blade that comes with the machine does almost every other type of material. The difference is in the setting when you are the software (Design Space). You select what type of material you are cutting and the machine adjusts before it starts cutting. Hope that helps!

is it possible to cut different kind of thickness? Say for example 1 cm or 0.3937 inches ?
@TheKingstonHome2 жыл бұрын
Hi Lisa! It only cuts up to 3/32" (2.4mm) - for thicker materials I use my Glowforge. I hope that helps!

If you did the chipboard intricate, what is the smallest circle you can make?
@TheKingstonHome3 жыл бұрын
Hi Jennifer - if you're cutting circles I wouldn't do anything smaller than .5" with the knife blade. Hope that helps!

How small of a font can you go cuttin? Was wondering bout a size for Embellishments in a card
@TheKingstonHome6 жыл бұрын
Hi Marie! They recommend no smaller than 3/4" (and for letters no thinner than the width of a pencil) - but I've cut a little bit smaller than that and had good luck! Not SUPER intricate designs that small though - just stuff like circles and stars. Hope that helps!

Can this be done with the explorer air 2? Does it need an special blade or knife?
@TheKingstonHome5 жыл бұрын
Hi Andy - the knife blade (what I'm using in the video) is made exclusively for the Maker machine and won't work in the Explore machines. You can cut thinner chipboard (like a cereal box) on the explore machines with the deep cut blade. Hope that helps!

😰 ohhhh that’s sad I just bought my explorer... I wish I knew this before... thanks 👍🏻

I have the black knife blade for explorer . Will that cut wood in my maker?
@TheKingstonHome5 жыл бұрын
Is it the Deep Cut blade? The Knife Blade was only made for the Maker - so if it is a Knife Blade then yes! :) If it is the Deep Cut Blade you can use it for the Maker but it won't cut the wood. :(
