-Periyar National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary (PNP) is a protected area located in the districts of Idukki and Pathanamthitta in Kerala, India. It is notable as an elephant reserve and a tiger reserve.
-The park is a repository of rare, endemic, and endangered flora and fauna and forms the major watershed of two important rivers of Kerala: the Periyar and the Pamba.
- Periyar lake boating to spot wildlife : 255 INR fro adults and 75 for children
- Boat timings : 7:30 am to 9:00 am; 9:30 am to 11:00 am; 11:15 am to 12:45 pm; 1:45 pm to 3:15 pm; 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm . For last ride, reach before 45 min(2.45 pm) , else the last bus (from entrance to lake) might be missed .
- Bus ticket to lake : 75 rupees
-Boating ticket : 255 for adults , 75 for kids (Done near lake)
-Seat number with boat name is in ticket, no need to rush to boat.
- Life jacket is mandatory for 1.5 hours through out the ride and standing is not allowed(cab stand only to click pictures for seconds )
- If you are booking stay inside main gate of Periyar tiger reserve , then keep in mind that the gate closes after 5 pm (not sure).
