I played this game before the original rework, back when it was still named Heist and even had Simon's music. Seeing it go *official* just feels... So bizarre. I love it. Hell, Overkill knew about it back in the golden days of Payday 2. All they did against it was ask them to pull Simon's music and change the name to avoid any confusion with Payday The Heist.

Idk, I feel like PD3 generally plays by far better after testing this one - but that might be because I'm too burned out on the PD2 playstyle. But PD3 will improve over time, that's how PD2 ended up being a viable game instead of a buggy barely playable mess which PD3 has been years ahead of since launch, lol

As somebody that's been a long time player of Notoriety and long time viewer of this channel (both of which got me heavily invested into Payday 2, now one of my favorite games of all time) I'm glad you took the time out to review this passion project. The criticisms you provided were pretty valid and I hope the team takes them into consideration, and I also hope you cover the game a bit more as it progresses. I know a couple people have already suggested it, but if you're gonna stay on the platform you should check out games like Entry Point and Operators, both of which are inspired by Payday The Heist and Payday 2, as well as games like Hitman, and I think you'd enjoy them just as much as you enjoyed Notoriety. 16:44 In notoriety, you can distract guards via throwing throwables near them. This includes bricks which are found in the ‘gadget’ section. When you throw them, they will go off their normal patrol paths and go over to the thrown object to investigate. And you can pick them back up by walking over them.

On jewelry shop the gaurd behind the building can get stuck by throwing a brick behind the trash bin it will try to go to the brick but will just get stuck due to the bin and will aways have that ? Showing all the time I did it accidentally and found that out

Hi I’m glad you covered this game! I’m the guy in your server who started ranting about PAYDAY lore and how Bain’s probably an alien. Notoriety is the game that introduced me to PAYDAY 2 :) Love how the game lets you just be overpowered with a sniper rifle and medkits that auto regen. The ability to carry two bags is one that I’ve sorely missed in PAYDAY! The voice lines are that way because they just got the go ahead to add them back into the game. ROBLOX made the devs remove them years back. Also, electrichaos 2018 is the best track before exit the premises and that song by thefatrat. Electrichaos is an original track and it’s. So good. I wish there were proper transitions for the music but you’ve gotta make do. I have lots of good memories with notoriety’s version of shadow raid, honestly. I’m glad it’s back! It’s been like a dream

That's what got me into payday 2, heist was so simple and followed old mechanics of payday, dual bag carrying, fifth pager by making a guard hostage and so on. It's just incredible how what got me into payday was a Roblox game

If youre looking for a much more immersive stealth experience on roblox i highly suggest entry point. The combat in loud missions is pretty basic but the stealth is where it shines. With disguises, various tools, interrogation, and more it actually makes sense instead of "blitz through everything because the npcs are so dumb" also the soundtrack rocks

I played Notoriety, before it was shut down. Fun Fact: Just like In Payday 2, the Saw used to be an Primary Weapon, before It was moved to the Gadget slot. But there was no skills, to buff its DMG, or to make it an Secondary, like in Payday 2. TBH, Im happy with the change of Putting the Saw in the Gadget slot

The P90 is now a secondary Big Bank is now a lot harder(no buff to exp) Throwables are now their own section The saw is now in the throwables section (now it can get down to three detection) Carrier pigeon is now in the ghost tree Some armors are renamed(civilian armor and super heavy armor) New drill skill reviewed in video You can now carry bodies(no body bag needed) Infinite cable ties The ninja pack That's all I can find in the revival of the game, but there are also some changes before this game was taken down.

the appeal of notoriety to me was it being an easy-access coop heist game that only required a roblox account to play, i started playing about 2020 ( way before we had unique enemies similar to payday 2 ) and have a lot of fond memories of it, plus. It introduced me to the PAYDAY series and eventually your channel. one thing i'm proud of is doing Virtuoso on the Ozelas Heist before the shutdown, the run i got the achievement on took about an hour, plus 30 or so failed runs beforehand. I'm glad to see that the shutdown isn't gonna be permanent as of the 16th :)

It doesn't work like that, you get some robux if people with premium play your game but that depends on how long you can keep them engaged and I don't think you get much from it, there's also gamepasses which are like dlcs. The reality is that with the amount of competence and how Roblox obviously doesn't want to pay you shit, unless you're lucky and get a lot of kids to play a shitty game it's probably not that profitable. And I didn't even talk about the taxes, you do save on servers costs tho.

Premium payouts happen when players who have a premium subscription play your game (the rate is undefined, it's based on the percentage of total playtime a premiumplayer has in your game, how many premium players play your game to begin with, how popular your game is in general, etc.) Gamepasses (and developer products in general) are perks you buy in-game. Roblox takes 30% of the Robux cost, developers get 70% (a gamepass that costs 100 Robux yields 70 to the dev). Developer exchange (dev-ex) is the way devs turn Robux into real money. The current rate is 350 USD for 100K Robux (you can exchange 30K Robux minimum for 105 USD). Mind you, the price to buy 80 Robux is 1 USD. Doing the math, it turns out that developers only get 25.5% of the money that players pay to Roblox. This has been a point of contention in the past, with many thinking this is unfair.

I know I'm late but, AI navigation is rather difficult with Roblox. While Roblox does have a built-in pathfinding system, it's super jank and often needs lots of help to get working properly. So there's the options of attempting to work around the existing features or writing one fully from scratch.

The best part of Notoriety as for me - heists. As example, when Ozela heist got released, I suddenly realized developer got inspired by Alesso heist in PD2 while making this one. But unlike Alesso one, that's a really good heist, quite hard, confusing, but not boring. I dont say about The Depot, that means for itself like "Shadow Raid 2.0", still fun as a original SR.

Really liked Payday2 and even got to play 3 close to release, Honestly Notoriety has better game direction, and more cohesive gameplay in a lot of cases. Alltought the car hiest in Payday 2 was really outside the box and others also have good direction. The standard bank can get boring without anything to do besides placing a drill and killing cops...

A fun Roblox game for sure. One of the best honestly. Glad to see it is back and have been having fun playing it for the first time. My only gripes are some pathing issues. Cops jumping over nothing is annoying but just Roblox jank. Also game is a bit tricky to start into. Mostly just I'm blind as hell and have trouble reading Jade explaining what needs to be done.

Been playing Notoriety on and off for 6 years literally the game that got me into payday in the first place. Having it come back was such a relief and i have already infamied 3 times since the rerelease. It has and always be my favorite heisting game as its just so simple and way better to grasp at than payday 2 as I constantly struggled with getting the hang of payday 2.

Whew! I've been playing notoriety since 2016? 2017? I've stuck around through the revamp and even came back after it was released with the "payday experience" subtitle. Its the game that actually got me to go buy and play pd2 once I figured out what it was inspired off. There are a few more interesting games on roblox that you might've heard or gotten suggestions for; Entry Point, an excellent stealth-action FPS with inspiration from PD2 & Hitman:WOA. There are a few interesting up and coming games that may fall into the purview of games loosely inspired by PD2 and other stealth-heisting elements... such as: Under The Radar - With a unique artstyle, gameplay and story. Operators - The demo (which you can play right now,) has three missions. Spotlighting its three main components, stealth, hacking & loud. But... yeah. I'm, of course, glad you made a video on this. It's a neat game.

Having to pay to get some of the really good unique weapons is a shame, but that’s also how it works in Actual Payday 2 and I bet they’re probably quite a bit cheaper in Roblox Payday 2

the only weapon pack that really worth getting is overkill one, where you get minigun as primary and rpg for secondary, its pretty cool but you can live without them as there are alternatives

I have been playing payday for years now and wanted to get my friends to play it with my, but with most of us unable to pay the ten bucks for base game ive only had one person play it with me, but as soon as i saw this video i sent it to our main group chat and said that i wanted to try it with them, I really hope that we can have fun playing this and that it holds enough of the payday feeling i can convince at least a few of them to buy it and play with me

It wasn’t, in the notoriety discord, they confirmed that they had no idea that it was similar to the alesco heist and it was purely original, I never liked the gala in entry point, I don’t see why they would take inspiration from that heist.

Might i ask you to give a try to Entry Point and Operators, they are two more Payday-likes on Roblox but unlike notoriety are merely inspired. They are closer to a fusion of Payday & Hitman with enough unique elements to make them feel like completely distinct games. Both games certainly have their flaws but seeing as they're both free to play(with bonus content locked behind paywall) and only costing time, it's well worth it! (Operators is currently in beta and will cease to be free when the full game comes out, it's planned to retails for 400 robux which translates to about 5$) Also you mentioned "inherent Roblox jank" and while i do agree with you there, Operators, with what little mechanics it has, is phenomenally well made... dare i say better that both Payday 2 and Payday 3.

I played Notoriety religiously about a decade ago when I was a kid. I was absolutely enamored by Payday 2 content and got super into making builds, but I was a child that was afraid to play their first M-rated game lol. Notoriety scratched that itch for 2-3 years before I got permission from my mom to play the real thing. Surprisingly it taught me so much about playing Payday 2 that I was able to transfer my abilities directly to it despite Notoriety being based off what was considered the old P2 skills at the time I played. These devs did and have been doing a phenomenal job at making a Payday experience, official or not. I cannot thank them and other roblox devs enough for giving interesting spins on existing games, and giving people free-to-play access so those without money or proper hardware can experience parts of gaming otherwise inaccessible to them. Gods, I played so much roblox because my friends didn't have good computers for a very long time and devs like these guys helped us have well-crafted fun times together in spite of everything.

Notoriety was the whole reason I even found out about Payday 2. I believe a little while before it got deleted, I found out what payday 2 was and I bought it on ps4 because it was on sale. This game is also the reason why im still interested in both “new” payday games. (2, 3)

im not like a top tier roblox developer, but ive worked with the built in pathfinding and enemies being lobotomites definitely comes down to roblox's genuinely awful system for pathfinding, you're 100% right about making the best out of a bad situation, but it's honestly a miracle how polished it is considering the garbage that they had to build on

I'm excited to give this another try, as at first I found it unfamiliar and difficult even as a relatively seasoned Payday 2 player. The review was quite helpful. Should you want to more deeply explore Roblox games, another interesting specimen you could focus on is "AniPhobia", also featuring combats with AI enemies, while in a more open world, survival-like approach. Enemies also have various special powers in it.
