I very much enjoy watching you go through a shop i know well. My dad and i live a mile away and he has done some sign painting work over the years for Helen and her son. He's also bought and sold with her many times. He was a civil war reenactor for many years and now does talks with props about the bridge builder Horace King, so antiques are right in his wheelhouse. Ironically, and the reason i actually landed on your channel, is that i myself am a knife collector. I collect mainly modern folders, and do some modding as well. I guess my range is anywhere from jrb, kizer, spyderco, reate, benchmade, and anywhere from 30 bucks to 6 or 7 hundred. I gets expensive quick, as I'm sure you're aware 😮. Anyway, just wanted to tell you that i enjoy your channel, and it's nice to hear someone doing "knife stuff" on KZbin that actually sounds like me lol, country as all hell and proud of it. Keep up the search my friend, I'll be riding shotgun with ya.

Very nice store and she greeted you by name! I found a large Bowie style knife at an old house I was at. It's covered in rust, but it's ok n a sheath. Looks ok. It says Pakistan on the blade. Is that a good knife?

She is super nice. Just clean it up and use it. Get 240 grit sandpaper and then once you get all the rust off use 400 grit sandpaper.

The first knife with the celluloid handles and shield may be an early Remington. I have seen some that the name was really faintly marked.

They are not machined like china made knives, they are made by traditional old machines and some steps by hand, once you get the little things worked out by hand they are great quality, and made by an American Co. That carries a great legacy. Become one with your knife, bond with it.
