Love those people behind litter picking! Andrew, problem is the UK is in a shambles at the minute and desperately needs us to spend cash in our own country to help the economy. Here is Scotland its pot holes everywhere and my city now is introducing the tourist tax… I get that as the more tourists the more you need to spend on things like cleaning and all public sector services. Tenerife to us is fantastic twice a year for many years and we ain’t going to stop ☀️

We saw a cockroach when we were sitting outside the Highland Paddy last week, most got scared and stood up but I just picked it up and put it outside. They don't hurt you, some make nice pets too.👍

British media represent their culture overall. Inherently pessimistic and dramatic and the media feeds off of that sentiment. It’s typical British media. Many Brit’s complain the same way. Maybe because it’s always cloudy and rainy and because of that it creates a certain personality. And why Tenerife is a hotspot so people can escape that negative energy.

I have zero problems with or about safety on the island. Sure we need to take the standard precautions with pickpockets etc. And just keep an eye out for the over young drinkers and that's really it. The main areas are normally free of cockroaches. You mite see the odd one from time to time. I used to live up in Brisas del Mar near the mountains (Costa Adeje). There we had to keep the flat very clean. Not really a tourist area. And the local bin area was full of roaches.

I am thinking of coming out to Tenerife end of October beginning of November this year for 8 to 10 days looking at staying at costa adeje or playa des americas with my mum as my dad just passed away last year, also I hold an Irish ☘️ passport so I come out on that if the spanish rules change anyway with entry

Absolutely, please don't believe what the gutter British press tells you. I have been holidaying there every year since 2011 and never been made to feel unwelcome. Of course, like anywhere there are places to avoid at night, like the Veronicas area. I have taken the time to speak to the Spanish that work in the hotels and live there, and they'll tell you exactly the truth, its affordable housing and the terrible wages that are the issue for them, Not the Brits.

We were there last dec. We chat with locals and they said they got nothing against tourist especially brits but they got problems with govt. About housing to much holiday rentals that they want to control, majority of canarian no problem with tourist but there also few canarian who really hates tourist dec.13 early morning at playa los cristianos and arona beach chairs was vandalised some destroyed by this small group of radicals.
